Kayli, one week out from major abdominal surgery, post partum, pumping, running up and down to the hospital, being Mom to your other children, sorting out Easter nails 😂 … you totally rock! I’m sure you are mentally & physically exhausted yet you look so so good! Hair done, make up on and dressed. Most would not be at that stage one week post partum never mind driving yourself to hospital. You are MoM of the USA never mind Utah. I’m blown away by your strength and above all your graciousness and positivity. No wonder you had a cry - you flipping deserve one. I wish you could see you through us - the viewers eyes - you would realise how we are all watching with our mouths open in awe ❤❤❤

I just cried so hard for like 5 minutes to my boyfriend during this. I've been watching you & your family for at least 12 years. I grew up with your family's kids, i'll be 23. When I was 2 days old I had a double surgery on my esophagus & was on a feeding tube for 3 weeks. I broke down seeing baby Finn with one. How can a precious baby that tiny be fighting so hard? He's crushing it & he will get there SO soon, keep good faith! I love you guys, Finn is so blessed to have you two as his parents. XO

I cannot imagine going through a situation like this. I cannot imagine the pain parents feel when their baby is in the nicu for months at a time. One week seems to feel like an eternity! I’m sending so much positive, healing vibes to dear little Finn! May God Bless your family!

Kaylie, when I had my daughter 28 years ago the nurses had me unwrap her so she would be cold and stay awake to feed. It works! It went against all my motherly instincts to keep her warm and cozy. Un wrapping her worked. She would eat and then I could wrap her back up in her blanket so she could sleep. Try this and see if it helps. It worked for me. Think about it, if you are wrapped warmly and feeling cozy would you like to be woken up to eat? I think that Finn having jaundice is what is making him so tired, maybe have more lamp time? My love and prayers to you all. XXXX

“This too shall pass”💙 So many memories of when my twins were born nearly 13 years ago. The night of their birth I was exhausted after my c-section & alone with one of them in my arms, the other in their crib. The room had been rearranged to fit their two cribs in and that meant I couldn’t reach the nurses call button. I was so worried I’d fall asleep and drop the baby so I managed to bring them over me to my arm that was beside the wall so they couldn’t fall to the floor. At some point a Dr came in to say she was taking my 8lb 5 oz son to the NICU because his bilirubin was too high. She had a look at my 5lb 10oz daughter and decided that as her bilirubin was borderline yet she was just as jaundiced looking as her brother that they’d take her to the NICU too. The next morning, struggling to walk, my spine kept “zapping” where my spinal had been done, I dragged myself to the NICU. 11 days of on & off light therapy, nasal feeds, me pumping, trying to breast feed, being told I was being discharged without my twins then being given an on call room to stay in as I refused to leave only for my son to save the day by being discharged from the NICU to the ward so I then got a bed there too again and the countless, what felt like thousands of blood tests, drs and nurses brutally squeezing their tiny heels to get blood was torturous from my babies & I. Honestly the best and very worst days! Hoping that Finn gets home soon xx

Babies in the nicu sometimes need extra time to build up strength to eat. If they are weaker then eating can expend more calories than they take in during the feed. When my son was in the nicu he just needed to eat “normally” full feeds for a day or two to be discharged 👍

Kayli I had the same experience in the nicu- it was excruciating and slow process waiting for him to eat his full feeds as I had to clear a day of full feeds. I got extreme anxiety about it. However he made it it just took a week or two longer and I would never wish that experience on anyone. He will get there. It’s a marathon not a sprint. (also I MAY have spilled a ml or two of milk during the 24 hours of feeds) 😮😅

Oh my gosh, you look like Braille with your hair up. My first baby was jaundiced as well, and under the lights. She would sooner sleep than eat as well. They said it was because of the jaundice. It was some rough getting her to wake up and eat. The Dr. told me I had to force her to wake up. I had to strip her off, and wash her feet with a cool facecloth. I had to make her too uncomfortable to sleep. It was horrible.

I am happy hes doing better I suggest because of everything finn went through to avoid the bottle feeding because he probably needs mommy more and with a bottle it becomes harder for babys to communicate and why my mom used one for me because when I wasnt hungry and cried she just fed me anyways when using her 8008 I was able to bite her and let her know I didnt want food with a bottle impossible for me to communicate anything My grandmother told me a few things and neither made logical sense for a baby 1 when my mom breadth fed me I bit her babys dont bite their moms unless trying to communicate something 2 I never like playing with toys as a baby thats impossible my mom just never let me play with toys and why I bit her (I put things together with some hep from others)

Can your husband take down time off you he can stay home and do all driving around with the kids so you can just stay at the hospital or rest at home? I think if he understood a C-section he wouldn’t just be like go here and there do all the things. I’m sorry I just really care about you but you had a huge surgery your hormones are all over the place your recovering and should not be driving and managing all the things. He really should get help from family and friends to take some off your shoulders please please we really care about you this is too much. You need peace and rest

Kayli, please don’t exploit your 😢child being in the NICU, you never know once he grows up if he would want to keep it private and not put this up for 600k people to see him in this situation. please keep these kind of comments to yourself and let medical professionals do their job. you speculating does nothing to help anyone. they're professionals, you're not. they're not keeping baby there for no reason, they know way more than we do. obviously if finn isn't eating at the hospital, hes not going to be eating at home either. its better he stays there until he's completely ready and healthy to come home.
