If you live in the SNOW belt region you MUST inspect the frame and framework for excessive rust ! Just as important as the engine running right if not more. Large numbers of Tacoma's WILL have holes like the driver seat in this video.

Just got another gen1 a few weeks ago. 2003 4 door 4x4 TRD! Loving life!

Three years ago I found a 2002 extended cab Tacoma with only 75K miles. Everything checked out, title, CarFax, wear and tear matched mileage, got it for $10K. Two reasons the guy couldn't sell it. One, it is automatic 4 speed. Two, it is 2WD. I absolutely love it, put 25K miles so far and no problems. The timing belt was changed at 60K miles, so I got a few to go before changing that. I had a 1987 Toyota pick up single cab, 2WD, and it got stolen by drug people which is why I went looking and found my Tacoma. I do miss the '87, but the Tacoma is a serious upgrade. My daughter got attached to the '87, I taught her to drive a manual in it, she wanted to keep it. She even named it Morty.

Man....That thing is soooooo clean for that mileage! Good Job man!!!!!

If am not mistaking you have a timing chain, not a timing belt
