This scene was foreshadowing of when Alexis was in the kitchen giving orders and Krystle walked in and said, "Follow me"....
@eduardo_corrochio4 жыл бұрын
Krystle was the relatable character whom we entered this world through. It was a good idea, when writing the show, having someone who was decent and wasn't filthy rich as one of the main characters. This is an enjoyable scene, especially the staff listening in. That final touch of Linda Evans dropping the clipboard on the counter (raising a little cloud of flour) was perfect. My only criticism of this is that the kitchen is ridiculously small for such a mansion. You can barely walk around without bumping into someone/something.

Joseph made the mistake of taking Krystle's kindness for weakness. She tried to be diplomatic and friendly, but Joseph was having none of it. As Krystle said, he was being "rude, petty, and insubordinate". Therefore, she put away the carrot and brought out the stick. She reinforced the facts that she is the mistress of the house, that Joseph works for her and her husband, and he must do as she says. I am glad that she put Joseph in his place. He deserved it. Joseph reminds me of The Housekeeper in Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca. Very territorial and can't stand seeing a "New" Woman as Mistress of The Manor. Also, he reminds me of John Amos The Butler in the Dollangager Series who knew about The Children from Day One after his Cousin Olivia told him. I think that in his own way Joseph may have had a Pre-Bromance with Blake. Also whenever a new Woman comes on the scene things get ugly. Remember when Lamar Odom marries Khloe Kardashian after a brief courtship and his Friend Jamie got upset and angry. Jamie hated the fact that Lamar "made it" in Basketball and he didn't, and when Lamar gave him a Job, he screwed it up, then they both paid. Jamie dies of an overdose and Lamar became a recovering addict who's a D List Sports Has Been. He's like The Bobby Brown of Sports with a major downfall.

John Forsythe suffered a heart attack and had quadruple bypass surgery before filming "Dynasty". He was gaunt during season one (you can see how thin he is at the very end of this scene) but gained weight and was more vigorous during subsequent seasons. I don't believe he ever had plastic surgery.
@mrmagassi4 жыл бұрын
Don't know if it was a face-lift; but there was a definite attempt after season one to make Blake Carrington "softer" in look and character... Blake was pretty ruthless in S1... he raped Krystle, befrated his gay son Steven, unleashed his dogs on Walter Lankershim etc...
