Never cut meat on a wooden chopping board. The juices get into small cracks, dry and rot which can cause serious illness. Nice looking steak though 👍

explains why my wooden chopping board absolutely reeks... Been cutting meats on it for years lol. Big of washing up liquid aint fixing that lol.

@@stevemad4carp788 I was going too say butchers use wooden chopping blocks😂 plus you can eat steak raw, perfectly edible as beef naturally contains very little bacteria that is harmful too humans.

@@stevemad4carp788 you should see the scrubber they use to clean them lol, I worked in an old school butchers for years, them things are brutal, having said that, i wouldn't bother worrying.

i think the rebranding did the smart price range did asda proud, allot of the range taste different to how they was, an example of this i found in the golden vegetable savoury rice . it tastes lovely , great vid man , you have earned yourself a subscriber

Bit of a false economy this tbh. £2 for 170g sounds alright but Morrisons have a couple of rumps or bavette steaks at 350g for £4.50ish. Both are much better quality. Still I guess for a single person only wanting 1 steak it’s a good deal.

Interesting to see the review on this. My 11 Yr old son loves his steak. I usually buy ribeye steak for him and an odd fillet steak. I'd been looking at these with the idea of a steak baguette or loaded steak sandwich but hadn't bought them as I thought they'd be like leather.

Deano I know you review mainly cheaper foods, but have you tried the Asda extra special steak house sirloin steak? Not cheap mate at £9.95 but man are they nice. About 2 inches thick, cook fir about 3/4 minutes either side so it comes out nice and pink inside oh their gorgeous but at £9.95 they are a treat, not something you’d buy all the time..

for £2 they are nice, not much difference between them and a serloin asda steak aprox £5 each. apart from these's are slightly thinner.

It's actually incredible. And they have now put the price up and restricted to 3 per person. 170grams of A class steak! A class! Cook in butter & a teeny bit of olive oil salt and pepper! It's the best steak of It's type ANYWHERE.

the brazing steak for 3.50 are a lot better imo taste wise and you get 400g for the price

Yeh but brazing steaks are for stew and casseroles. I couldn’t imagine eating one as a pan fried steak.

Good stuff mate. You should try the big daddy rump steak from Iceland. 16oz for £5.50. They’re really nice.

I've got about 30 of em in the freezer! Sirloin and rump mixed. Can't beat em for the price. I bought 100 quids worth a couple months ago when all the prices started going up.

Yeh for £5.50 their a good buy, but tbh you can’t beat your local butchers for meat. And contrary too popular belief their no more expensive than the supermarket.

@@alberttrotter3938 the Sirloin is better as the rump steak can be a bit tough. But did you know the rump steak has the lowest amount of fat and calorie content? Hence why they can be tough as there’s little fat too tenderise the meat.

Tbh Shaun you can’t beat your local butcher when it comes too meat. Everyone thinks butchers are expensive but enter a supermarket with all their offers that entice you in even though you don’t need most of it, you’ll end up spending more. These supermarkets employ specialists who’s job it is too get you too buy stuff you really don’t need, by placing these products at eye level in fancy packaging to brainwash into buying. I’ve found shopping separately at the butchers, then fruit and veg shop saves me money as you only buy what you need and went out for..

Had a £10 T-bone from Lidl last week. Worth it. Rather an "expensive" piece rarely than a lot of "cheap" stuff £6 ribeye from new local butcher for dinner

If you get chance try the Asda extra special thick steak house rump or sirloin. Not cheap at £9.95 but about two inches thick, pan fried about 4 mins either sides so it’s still nice and bloody on the inside. They are gorgeous.
