i think 2.3 story should solve all of the mysteries including sparkle's red button and firefly's three deaths in penacony

The Penacony story obviously isn't over, cuz at the end of every story we end up going back to the Express, talking about our next journey etc. It was the same thing with Xianzhou Luofu. It seemed that all the big stuff has happened but it took till the next update for Tingyun to have a funeral, have some things resolved and get back to the Express. So i'm sure most if not all of our questions about unfinished plot lines and stuff will be answered (mainly about what happened to Sunday oh god please i beg)

On Firefly. It connects with the three deaths. First Death is by the Meme and we all know it started the whole conflict on Penacony. Second Death is her role as the first one to wake up against Order. That basically is the headstart that "this isn't a dream" and likely helped Blackswan woke up, Acheron (she isn't affected, but is the one helping people to wake up) find others, Robin (she knew thru will power) and the others. Third Death is likely how she will leave the dreamscape but there are two version/form of it. She said that if we beat order, she will not experience the worst form of it (the "True" Death). Acheron likely also knows about the Third Death. She mentioned that we have to match her determination on this fight, because it will likely affect her third death.

Penacony story went from Inception in 2.1 to The End of Evangelion in 2.2

Remember how Acheron exploded the TB and they woke up at the very beginning. That is probably what happened to Firefly so she could wake up.

Please remember that Penacony isn't over, 2.3 is gonna have the real ending chapter!

Humanizing villains is what Hoyo does. Talking purely HI3 here they go to a lot of trouble to explain and humanize all of their villains, to the point where even the inhuman, irredeemable ones who are literally born just to kill as many humans as possible and collapse human civilization are given some level of humanization and sympathetic backstory. This is just how they write their villains and make them memorable.

I think Sunday was never truly challenged idealistically. Like we never see anyone truly try to empathize with his pov but still challenge him non the less. Wish they explored him more cuz honestly, he felt like the M.C this patch.

I found Sunday's character to be very similar to Takuto Maruki: a bit of a damaged wacko with a massive messiah complex; that and their intention to create a "utopia" without taking into account its feasibility or the will of the people. This type of morally grey antagonist tends to be much more interesting than your typical Cocolia (let alone an evil overlord ala Phantylia). I do hope it's not the last we see of him.

She has died 2 times now. If she dies one more time, then she's dead first time is when she got jumped by the meme when she met trailblazer blackswan and acheron and the second time is when she died to get out of the dream that we didn't know that we were dreaming in. She was the first one out.

I don’t think Firefly is dead yet well she should be at 2 deaths count by now but not 3 yet. And even if it’s 3 she said they will have to fight each others in the future eventually so it safe to assume that she will have to survive now to fight in that future

Hot take: I’m not a huge fan of Robin’s character as they told it. She came off to me as overly naïve and a bit over simplistic in her reasoning. It might be partly because they didn’t show as much of Robin. Sunday’s complexity as they told his perspective was much more appealing to me. I also continue to get very confused about who gets to judge the leader of a planet? When the rest of the solar system has different moralistic standards by following different aeons anyway? Like, hold him accountable to the people of penacony but since they’re independent it seems like them handing “justice” off to third parties is an opening for the IPC and others to make a power grab…

Loved the story this time, peak writing, found a way to make me invested into every character but Firefly! Well with how it ended I'm ready for that one company that has more resources and capital than mist galaxies while also being a military force, fk the IPC!

2.2 is really good, glad it's longer than usual. The curiousitu build up from 2.0 and 2.1 is worth it. That ending with that song is amazing

Firefly is still alive. her first death was stabbed by "Death". The second one was afted her Henshin, she killed herself in the dream to wake up so she can sent message to Danheng and Acheron. Her third death remains unknown, It must be in 2.3.

I barely didnt care about the story as I was waiting for Ifrit and his team to appear. I refuse that they got wiped out off screen.

frankly i rate it a 9 if luofu is an 8 what most people don't understand about star rail is that both penacony and luofu story isn't finish, infact it's only the prologue for luofu with not otto scheme and for penacony there's still the IPC and sparkle button and i'm going to say this first, the main story for star rail isn't going to be the MC rockman power up main quest but rather more likely centered around the simulated universe and genius society/herta also as a HI3 player there is something about the plot that bothers me mainly welt in all of this, it doesn't make much sense that he can't wake up without the MC and black swan help

Siding with Sunday honestly wouldn't have made sense since his plan goes against the path of Trailblaze

For me personally, if they tried to make Misha's end painful, they succeeded and went beyond, my heart ACHED for HOURS. And the 2nd Sunday Boss Fight felt so satisfying to me. I can't wait to see how painful 2.3 will be!

About Firefly: if you go to her secret base after the quest, the text changes (again) and, besides being pretty cute, it also says that the trailblazer has a feeling that they will see firefly again. That, with her being released in the next patch and the story not being over yet (bc all the IPC stuff + the galaxy rangers arriving) gives me an impression that whatever she left for in that cutscene will be shown either in the next patch's main story or her personal companion quest, and that she'll probably make it out alive

It was great but playing it, the pacing was difficult to get through. Cutscenes and revaltions were crazy good. About the death of firefly, after the last mission "after the eighth day" a small part of me thinks the next part should be called "the next mourning" showing Gallagher, misha, acheron, firefly, and sunday disappear or die in a cutscene to conclude penaconey. It felt like a lot of death flags and i think it'll be interesting and somewhat a good farewell to those characters. Especially since we gotten a few remarks on these characters having the possibility to fade away for good. Whenever or not that happens is really up to the will they wont they. And that wholesome writter wouldnt surprise me.

Another thing is we have not seen Firefly’s power up yet Spoiler Warning From the gameplay leaks she has a power up when she Ults that changes the flames from red to green and gets dual swords. We have not seen either the green flames nor the swords. She is alive and will stay alive after Penacony ends 100%. My question is, once Penacony is over. will she be the first new member of the Express since we joined, or will she stay with the Stellaron Hunters?

I wonder if people in general will remember Penacony or Fontaine more fondly. I think right now its penacony for rescency bias but in the future it will be complicated.

I think Sunday banner will be saved for 2.7

Robin vs Sunday reminded me of the Inazuma arc from Genshin but if they actually tried. Other than that the story gave me a still depressing, but brighter Little Nightmares kind of vibe.

Kinda wish we got Sunday but he is on the path of the Order so we get a new playable path too

I just finished it and it was amazing! But, with that last Scene it seems that the Story of Penacony is not completely over just yet. Only hope it's not going to be so long as this Quest.

The box Sparkle handed out to people while disguised as Robin never being addressed bothers me so much. I was hoping there was gonna be a nod to that when Black Swan acknowledged that the good ending was bullshit Also Sunday was so good because he was literally HSRs Father Pucci. It was pure chefs kiss seeing all the biblical stuff for him

Pure conspiracy, but if we were dreaming from the very start, assuming our dream was a personal dream and not a collectively shared one, and that waking up from Ena’s dream is just part of the dream, could we still be on the parlor car and just had a super long nightmare while haven’t even arrived at penacony yet, imagine next patch PomPom wakes us up and says ‘we’ve arrived at penacony’ that would be hilarious.

I'm not too mad about Robin not being too central to 2.2 story, I think it makes sense for her character to be a caged bird until her real moment in the spotlight at the end. However, Aventurine ? I was about to meet him in the real Penacony, but it felt like they just forgot about him ? I also thought about the picking side thing because we had the new branching storyline since 2.0 and the character point of view since 2.1, and since Robin and Sunday both wanted to access the Harmonius Choir, I thought "maybe I choose Robin's side and fight Sunday/Order, or I choose Sunday's side and fight Robin/Harmony" but it's only the start of the game's second year so well.

That final battle music is what's missing in the Luofu Arc. Can we just call it Xianzhou Tofu for just how bad that story was?

I've said this before and I'm sure many people would disagree with me which is fine, yes it's much better than the loufu in the sense that the epic climax was well executed, but in the end it's still a combination of a long elaborate history lesson + epic climax, this disconnect makes it difficult for me to rate this story anything above a 7/10 at max, in the loufu it was high cloud quintet + phantylia, in penacony it was mikhail and his group + sunday, it's the same format and personally I was expecting more considering how strong penacony started out, I just did not care about misha and the historical trailblazing figures like that, and I think they could've done a better job at making the plot more emotionally investing, I would've preferred there to be more friction between characters who are active in the current plot like gallagher, sparkle, sunday, firefly, etc. The way they did this quest makes the super crazy scenes from past patches feel like silly shock factor gimmicks that didn't have much bearing on the plot in retrospect, and I don't like that I think in that sense hoyoverse storytelling is just not for me, I like it when the characters are actively engaging with the high stakes plot, I don't like it when the dialogue is just a huge loosely connected lore exposition dump and the characters passively reacting to it, even as a mystery I don't find it intriguing because at the end of the day I know that it just won't have that much weight in light of current circumstances

The best story soo far and by far Penacony. Xianzhou is like eh, almost like how we finish Inazuma story on GI (i already quit tho). Even, for Belobog, it 5 times better than what i expected. Plot twist after plot twist after more plot twist. It is great, and confusing at the same time. Too much to take into. Maybe the epilogue of Penacony can help us. Since we still havent had any idea what actually happen to Firefly, even Sunday & Robin. Next is will Jade come to Penacony?

this story was actually so amazing and the morally grey areas were done perfectly and was constantly shown throughout the story, unlike genshin, at this point what is even genshin writing doing, hsr is so peak man...take some notes genshin

Pacing at the end was horrible And I’d say that we didn’t have a goal, after playing it twice, I still can’t understand wtf were we doing there… bruh Also, insane aventurine setup from 2.1 got lost, like wtf dude made a grand finale setup then disappeared

The story was really, really bad

I wouldn't say that them getting different visions despite having the same enviroment because Sunday was not only supportive of Robin's desition to wander and travel amongst the cosmos but also protecting her from the bad influences, its why she took that long to realize recently there has been something wrong in Penacony. If he didn't shield her from the bad influences from The Family around it she would had done something for him and talked about this way sooner but because Sunday took the whole blunt of the indulgence of the habitants of the Sweet Dream, by the time Robin realized it was too late, Sunday was way too commited onto not having a second thought about resorting to the path of order.
