I always love "Dry Style" noodles, so when I heard about a dry variation of Bun Bo Hue, I had to try it. It was so good, and watching this video back im craving it again. although i had to change my plans, I was lucky to find some delicious fried treats and finally try a Banh Xeo i have been seeing for weeks.

Great banh xeo there with huge leaf selection. I have had tge normal bun bo hue at Sa Te Sa , but not kho. Must try it

I was dissapointed with the banh xeo I tried in Vietnam. I went to the Anthony bordain spot and another one that was recomended and both were beautifully crisp but bland so I'm keen to redeem this dish when I return!!! The banh knot tho blew me away. Loving these casual videos Chad. Easing my vietnam withdrawals (and also making them worse at the same time lol). Xxxx

PS don't worry not knowing a certain word, the locals will help you out like the nice gal at 5:10. Your accent is way too good. As long as they understand your accent, everything else is a piece of cake. Also don't be afraid to teach them English when they ask for it. It's considered a status symbol over there. When I was in the refugee camp in Bataan in 1989, my English teacher was only there there for 6 months working with the kids and her Vietnamese was perfect. She ended up teaching ESL in bilingual, which I preferred over the Vietnamese guys hahah

Great job Chad. Cool dishes served in non traditional ways. Can't wait to try the dry BBH. Something my wife and I noticed, have you tried softening the banh trang by dipping in some warm water? You don't trust the water or just prefer the tough chewy challenge 🙂 On a tangent, what exposed you to Vietnam? That would be an interesting story to tell. Let me know if you've covered it in one of your other videos.

The majority of banh trang here does not need to be ripped in water, sone are soft already others are so thin the residual water from the lettuce is enough

It's actually fresh and soft in Vietnam and doesn't need anything more than the residue wet from the lettuce.

The banh khot there is good. They drizzle it with coconut cream. And sprinkle pork floss on top. Bit of a twist from how I normally eat banh khot. The leaf you couldn't identify is mango according to my gf. She's vietnamese so I suspect she's right.

Eating bánh xèo with bánh tráng (rice paper) is a style typical of the Central region. Bánh xèo originated in the South, and traditionally, people from the South don't eat bánh xèo with bánh tráng.

Next time, you have to try bánh tiêu with bánh bo( the fluffy white stuff ) you open bánh tiêu and stuff it in,it delicious,that how VN people eat!

Sa Te Sa. Its on the corner of 2 small lanes , just down and opposite Cho Tan Dinh. Nguyen Huu Cau St.

Just a small trick for you. You only use "Dạ" for a people that older than you to show respect. I hear you use it when talk with younger people sound super weird 😂

I wonder do you miss America food ? Or you just get used to Vietnamese food ? I’ve friends here in Australia they often eat Vietnamese food and didn’t like much theirs Australians . They told me Vietnamese food doesn’t made you fat , more healthy and tasty . 😊
