An excellent instructional video. Even after completing the Google UX Design Thinking course, I still had some areas of confusion. This video helped me clarify the connections between various concepts and knowledge points. Thank you~~~

Came here from Limitless program, and this is great. This is something that is going to be in use in our everyday life, to think critically and find the real reason of our daily trouble🤩

Ooooh! I love this. Yes! The problem might not be what we automatically assume - that critical thinking helps us get to the REAL issues. I’m curious now - what is the Limitless program?

@@MindfulMarks True. Limitless is a program designed by IFRC as a safe learning place for Red Cross and Red Crescent collaborators to learn about innovation approaches. And there your video was provided as a reference for the learners.

Que : If we are defining the Problem statement here by looking at the data collected at the Empathize phase, then what exactly we collected data for in the first phase ? Shouldn't the basic problem statement be the first step to start with. May be it can be refined in second phase ?

I had the same doubts when I started. Let me explain it to you. There are two sides to any UX problem. One is the Business (product/service) and other being Customer (user). When the Business side is facing an issue, we set out to find why is it happening (this generally is the job of Managers). If it is something that design can solve, Designers are asked to solve it. And now, here comes the Empathise stage. We study the Customers and figure out their problems to solve, which will eventually solve Business issues.

The first step is always research, research, research. Who are you designing for? What are they struggling with? What is already out there, and how is it serving the people or not? (competitive analysis) Drill down on details of your audience - in high school? single mothers? college students? is there a need? and if you fulfill a need, how we you reach your audience? Talk to people, run surveys or interviews, go where your audience is and observe, ask questions, etc. That could be physical and/or digital locations.

I desperately need your aid. I am a student at a university in Vietnam studying design thinking. Our lecturer assigned us to identify an issue and address it using the five processes of design thinking. The topic we picked is "diversifying the daily menu for UEH students" since our students typically spend the entire day at school and the meals are frequently repeated; in short, we lack options and frequently have headaches from the question "what to eat for lunch today?". When it got to the Define section, I ran out of ideas. please help me I wish you a pleasant evening. I barely have a few days until I have to submit my assignment, but the scenario is not ideal. I am looking forward to your response.

I wish you the best of luck on your project! Did you do surveys to find out what people are thinking, feeling, saying about the food in the cafeteria? What is the data you have collected from people? What does the analysis of that data tell you? Only then can you really understand the problem space and start trying on “How might we...?” questions.

@@MindfulMarks I just finished my report last night. Everything about it is bad. My group has just seven members, three fewer than other groups, but I did all of the work myself... I was wondering if I might ask for your email address so that I can better contact you? I'll be submitting my final project on the 23rd of this month; may I seek your advice? Thank you very much. I wish you a pleasant evening. And I apologize for my poor English.
