Long, Jim Plunkett, Art Shell, Mike Haynes, Daryl LaMonica, Tom Flores (probably others) were 'eagle scouts' Others like Matt Millen, Skip Thomas, Cliff Branch, Ken Stabler, Reggie Kinlaw, they were what's known as 'characters...with character.' Then there were the psychos, too numerous to mention. What I mean is the Raiders just wanted you to be yourself (WHATEVER that was) and then play your guts out on Sunday.

Old Man Willie played the majority of his days as a RAIDER so basically he was a RAIDER through and through. Mike Haynes played half his career with the Patriots and the second half with the RAIDERS so you could go either way. A last example would be Jerry Rice, he would be considered as a 49er despite his 3 or so years as a RAIDER (3 excellent years, but he wasn't a 'long time' RAIDER that you would compare with other 'long time' RAIDERS).
