2" Vs 1.5" ADZ - 1.5" ADZ? WHAT ARE YOU STUPID OR SOMETHING?
Let's take a direct comparison on a tough door with both tools. Leverage is king when you need it the most.
The TSR Halligan was designed for real world commercial doors that require more leverage to gain a decent gap. Here we flex our door, open up the seam, and work our gap for the finish. Too many times we see gapping and FE done directly just above or below the lock which is the strongest toughest area to create distance. "Take what the door will give you" and work your gap for the finish!
And always remember, "Roll that Adz before you throw that adz!

Solid. Got to play with a TSR a few weeks ago. Solid tool for sure. Control that maul acting as your gap capture. Granny survives the fire but doesn't survive the axe to the forehead.

@@jimbaity9672 granny will be ok! When training we tell folks to kick that tool out prior to final push. But usually there is resistance on the door if someone is dropped right behind it.

Im curious why y’all went this route. Your prototype had a 2 in didn’t it? Was this based on feedback from testing? Or just something that you guys rethought? I know the TSR is a little shorter so leaving a 2 in on a 26 inch tool would have actually decreased your leverage. Not knocking the idea. I’ve already ordered mine and can’t wait to get hold of it. Just curious what led to the change in design.

Hi Robert, Yes, after testing we wanted to increase the mechanical advantage to get a full turn of the adz. Reducing the adz width does increase the mechanical advantage, it brought it up to a 17:1 to vs the 13:1 we had with the initial prototypes. With the higher MA we more often got a full turn of the adz which equated to more throw on tougher doors. While the 2" adz paired with only 26" length would not easily get that full turn/throw.
