Your jacket is messed up, you probably cant see shit through your nomex seeing how it covers your entire face and you didnt clip into your bottle or even turn it on. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast, and fast is lethal. Make sure you do it right so you dont become a statistic

@@lesliechow4719 it’s pretty heavy, as my dad is a firefighter and I tried on his gear and could barely even hold myself up. 2nd of all the coats and pants are all fire resistant, it’s not the weight that keeps it from burning.

TFS my nephew went to Bakersfield in January to work with the fire department and I haven’t ever seen any of the training exercises that he will be doing. This is a great experience for me and I applaud you for sharing.

The 2 minute drill I was trained on you had to turn the bottle on and be breathing from it. Not to mention you didn't pass if your gear wasn't squared away upon completion. By the way kid I threw a 1min 18 second time on the board at 36 years old, keep practicing.

According to prior comments, he didn't even do it correctly though. Apparently he's supposed to have proper visibility after putting his hood on and have an oxygen tank connected for it to be a proper suit-up.

Whats the point? Im a german FF and i just jump in my boots pull up the pants, throw on my jacked grab my helmet and get on the engine. Do the rest on there. Close jacket, shoulder scba, put on mask, then the nomex hood, then the helmet and gloves.
