Love this, thank you Alison. Saw the wired glads in your bouquet video so great to see how it’s done. Tried the other “tipping “ tip last week actually and it really does work. Didn’t know the correct term though until this - every day is a school day! 🌸

I am so happy to have watched this! I broke the tops off my bouquet of Trader Joe’s glads just as you suggested and they look so good. . A great tip. I have always found them disappointing but now I will buy more .

Are glads back in fashion? I think they fell out of favour. They are the one bulb I would consider growing..

They will last fairly well out of water actually! You can always do a test on your workbench if you're not sure...glads are hardier than they look!

Here's a quick tip for you. The names are gladiolus (singular) and gladioli (plural).

Both are correct, but as a florist for over 30 years I can state with confidence that "gladiolus" is not the common way we talk about this flower at work. Gladiola is common and acceptable.
