A. Giles, Bohn's Antiquarian Library in 1847. Taken from the book "They Saw it Happen" Historical Eyewitness Accounts (1957) Follows the life of a dark witch who sold her soul and what happens after she dies.
Second Story: Pope Gregory 'The Great" served in a monastery outside of Rome before becoming Pope. This is his account of life in a Christian Monastery in 565 A.D. Taken from the site "Eyewitness to History" Gregory's account appears in Robinson, James Harvey, Readings in European History (1906); Evans, Joan (ed.), The Flowering of the Middle Ages (1985).
