Oh CHAD! What an amazingly wonderful video! And for me wonderfully timely. I sit on 2 DEIJ/JEDI groups in 2 organizations. And I am presenting next month on The Process of Decolonizing Your Camp. And I love that you had Meg on this video! This made my day! And I have 2 flights this week so plenty of time to compost this material! And I can see the "for me" tool as being wonderful to use with campers when disagreements happen. Heck, for connecting with my kiddo. Keep making a ruckus CHAD!

😳 Whoa. "For me." "For you." This was so very good. I found myself pausing to write this down and want to repeat this to remember. What an incredible gift. Thanks for this -and all your vids. Always insightful, but this really hit. Whoa. I can't wait to share this with others. So so so good. ❤️

Hey Chad! Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of the video (and also modeling such a cool way to bring a guest into a video!) I love how much "for you" has stuck with you and doing this video has reminded me just how impactful those words really can be. You continue to inspire Chad :) thanks for bringing me in. ~ Meg

1) definite 'notes' taken to weave into upcoming work/mtgs 2) thinking that I'll update the signature line on my emails to include a 'for me....' statement

Ooo, that is a fun twist/idea! Could become a great and very simple group exercise or form of Connection Before Content to simply start a regular staff meeting with a "for me" sentence of your choice.

Great DEI video! Was listening to a podcast this morning (Dare to Lead- Brene Brown) and she spoke about the importance of DEI- Specifically how diversity means have distinct people who bring different characteristics. Inclusion- by inviting these people to be heard and seen. In other words, inviting them to contribute! Great content! Also, love the new intro and background scene! Great look!! Thanks Chad! P.S.- As many organizations bring employees back, maybe future videos could also be dedicated to work/life balance, making the transition or even remote work and its future.... just sharing ideas... Thanks Chad!

Remote, its future. Transition back. Work/life balance (or harmony) ... noted! Great topics.

Fascinating video, Chad! I found myself in love with this new point of view on this subject. For me, Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity mean celebrating and respecting people for what they love being and for what is inside of them. I have been a silent but loyal fan of your content. I have implemented the We! Connect Cards, heard your audiobook, watched your videos, and planning on taking some of your tips onto the table for my new job. You have helped me to be a very resourceful person. Thank you so much for being so inspirational and wise for me! P.S Now, I love Facilitator Cards, too

Some great ideas on personalizing the "global-ness" of DEI and also acknowledging the perspectives, feelings, and experiences of others. Knocked it out of the park....again! Thx, Chad!

I absolutely love this. I always find myself saying or offering the explanation, we want to recognize that there are people having completely different experiences than ourselves. I find we do this all the time to other individuals in what may seem like insignificant scenarios but it matters. We say things like, It's really easy, all you have to do is... The words "For Me" and "For you it's true" help frame that and make it more tangible for people in real time to not feel dismissed or othered.

Totally! When we go to say something like "it's really easy [for me]", it is often a good dose of self awareness at how not helpful that might be to somebody who is just learning or getting started or something.

This is such a helpful video! I have been sharing it with colleagues around Penn State. Just check the thumbnail image - it has the "r" and the "s" in Diversity switched. :)

What a great video, and I love the new background. Where can we find the facilitator cards? I didn't see it in the text below the video. BTW, I love that you brought another creator onto here. Her contribution was really valuable.

@@FacilitatorCards - Meg, I've been looking at your site. Have you considered creating a video program where you demo each of the facilitation exercises? It would be valuable to see how you set context, actually do the exercises, and how you debrief them. I have some ideas and would be happy to have a conversation if you'd like to discuss.

Memo to all departments: It has been brought to our attention that we need to hire a janitor. And I agree, but we want to make sure that we are following our inclusion and diversity goals. Therefore, any and all positions will require, at least 700 hours of intense internal and external training. And there will be an additional 1,600 hour of film study. So.... Here is our inclusion and diversity training list for a sanitation engineer (janitor) position. 1. Generational Diversity 2. Gender Diversity 3. Sexual Orientation Diversity 4. Intentional Inclusion and Inclusion Training 5. Micro-aggressions 6. Cultural Competence and Diversity Initiatives 7. Culture Fit: Having a Diverse Workforce 8. Racial Equity and Diversity Training 9. Age Diversity 10. Disability Diversity 11. Religion Diversity 12. Ethnic Diversity 13. LGBTQ + Inclusion 14. A Focus on the Multigenerational. 15. The Challenges of Working With Millennials 16. Unconscious Bias in the Workplace 17. Supporting Gender Identity and Expression 18. Shifting From Diversity and Inclusion to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 19. Implicit Bias To all departments: Until we hire a qualified employee. Each employee must do the work that a janitor would do. Also, it has been brought to our attention. That we are making the qualifications impossible to fulfill. So that we will not spend the money on a janitor. This is simply not true.
