Hotel Dusk is incredible, a hidden gem. It's basically a noir thriller novel, but the gameplay makes you use the DS in ways that you never thought were possible - mind blowing and because of the unique gameplay it can never be on any other console.

HeartGold is definitely my favorite DS game, and I love Super Scribblenauts too. Personally, I would've also included Drawn to Life and Nintendogs.

I was just talking to my brother of Phantom Hourglass the other day. I was talking about how long we were stuck on that puzzle that the solution was to close the DS. I forgot what it was about. I just remembered thinking how clever that was and the whole blowing into the mic.

I recently revived my DSi.I'll be sure to try out some of the games on this list.

Pokemon could easily have 4 of this top 20 with Platinum, HG/SS, B2/W2, and MD: Explorers of Sky. That's (in my opinion) the 3 best mainline Pokemon games ever and the best Pokemon spin-off game ever, and they were all together on one system!

Fossil fighters Championship is a fun little gem. It's ofc overshadowed by pokemon, but it's a nice take on the poke-like games.

Ghostrick phantom detective, 999, SMT Strange Journey, Advance Wars Days of Ruin and Sonic Colors should've been on the list.

Call it skill issue, but as a Mario 64 veteran, I hated SM64DSs controls. Also, X&Y were amazing, don't say that every game after gen 5 is bad. They just weren't great at launch. Mario party DS was the last great mario party games until superstars. Finally, the pan flute in spirit tracks was absolutely stupid. My athsma cannot compensate for the precision requirements of that.

Sonia Belmont is rolling in her non-canon Original Game Boy grave right now. I love Order Of Ecclesia, but Shinoa wasn't the first. Sorry Igarashi doesn't like Sonia, but she WAS there first.

Seeing TWEWY and Dual Strike get some well deserved love is great. And as much as I love Order of Ecclesia, my favourite handheld Castlevania game is always going to be Portrait of Ruin.

I get the feeling that this video is like 2 or 3 years old and just now posted. Jess talks about waiting for Advance Wars to come out on Switch(been out for almost a year now) and mentions the next Castlevania collection being the GBA games(Castlevania Advance Collection came out in 2022).

I remember TeamFourStar playing through The World Ends With You. Sadly they stopped playing once it was revealed to be a time loop game.

So, Order of Oclisia isn't the first Castlevainia to have a female protagonist. There was also one in the N64 game, and even back during the SNES and Genesis era I believe had a game with a female character.

Order of Ecclesia is sooooo good. It's basically the "prototype" for Bloodstained, but I like the aesthetic of OoE better than Bloodstained's. Mario Kart DS is still my preferred version, just a shame that hackers ruined the online experience.

For me, Heart Gold/Soul Silver and Justice For All are the best of their respective franchises on the DS. The former two make full use of the DS and brings out the qualities of Pokemon to its strongest form, while the latter has the best story and character work in the original trilogy. But I'm pretty stoked to see The World Ends With You on this list.

Recently I’ve been playing my 3ds again and bought TWEWY..probably one of the best games I’ve ever played..I absolutely loved the original more than NEO, i highly recommend it if you’re a kingdom hearts fan or looking for something new.

Why no Mario Party DS?

I have to say, I like The World Ends With You, but to say it’s the best JRPG on the DS feels like a bit of a stretch. Any game where you need a journal to even understand the story, needs a more understandable story. Same reason why I like Kingdom Hearts’ gameplay , but actively mock the nonsensical story. And it may not have originated on the DS, but the DS is where I first played Chrono Trigger, so that’s my vote for true best.

A VERY average and safe list, but there are SO MANY other DS games way better than many if the ones here. This list is almost all Nintendo 1st party games. If you want a great DS game I would recommend any of the Elite Beat Agent games, Rune Factory, 999, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, Red the Hunter, or if you want to play what might be the MOST GAME on the DS, Infinite Space

Im sorry but you mention great ds games and you dont mention lego battles??? I mean you get to play 3 different eras of lego in a rts type battles where you can find blue studs and minikits to unlocks maps and characters to use in a multiplayer fight it was such a fun game

Meh, you don't have contra 4 ,megaman starforce 3, final fantasy tactics advance 2, pokemon mystery dungeon, rhythm heaven, megaman zx, Radiant Historia, Devil Survivor 1/2, Strange Journey, The World Ends With You, Okamiden, Dragon Quest IV, V, VI, IX. This list would have been good a few years into the release of the ds, but many of these should not be on the list. You're telling me. Professor layten series should have gotten 2 spots instead of pokemon, and it didn't even include the best pokemon game.

the only reason I played heartgold and soul sliver over the OG gen 2 games (ie Crystal) IS..... THE ABILITY TO FINALLY RUN IN JOHTO. I admit its not as big a problem when ure on emulator but my word is it a pain to WALK SO FREAKING SLOW IN CRYSTAL.
