I'm from Mariupol, I want to thank you for doing this. Once I walked, rested with friends and relatives in places that now look like this. Some of the people I spent time with there have left our world. We were kicked out of our homes. They destroyed 80% of the infrastructure of our city, and now they are trying to hide everything they have done by building new buildings. But I, like almost all Mariupol residents, did not need something new, we just wanted to live at home, in our homeland. Thank you for your movie

This documentary has been shown in Amsterdam on the International Documentary Festival (IDFA). People brought popcorn to the screening room. I have never seen so many people throw away full containers of popcorn after a movie, as no one was able to eat a bite while the horrors of Mariupol were revealed to us on the screen. Biggest respect to the people who made this documentary.

@@dizziis855 жду ответа на старый комент Уже было много раз сказано, что все и всё прекрасно знали + Зеленский сам в интервью рассказал, что специально ничего и никому не рассказал (кроме элиты, которая вывезла своих), чтобы не началась паника и чтобы экономика не теряла миллиарды, а мэр первоначально всех успокаивал, а потом убежал и как "забавно" - проезжая через заставы ВС РФ =) Но тогда, как назвать "АТО" с 2014? Не говоря уже про то, что "Азовсталь" специально подготавливалась под осаду. А сравнение с Херсонскими городами - откуда всу сбежали и всё там было почти нормально - не идёт ни в какое сравнение. Властям нужна была "картинка", чтобы выпрашивать финансы и оружие. Плюс и очень важно, на том направлении было много бывших и нынешних украинцев в рядах РФ, но про гражданскую войну лучше не вспоминать, зрадно, да? А остальной кринж, будешь рассказывать тем, кто не в курсе, а не тому, кто имел укр.паспорт до 2014 и прошёл энерго, водную и прод.блокады в Крыму. И я так понимаю, что так топорно перебиваем зрады, что В РФ и непосредственно в Крым выехало официально 2,8 ляма?) А не офф. - раза в 2-2,5 больше. А сюда же до 2022 - 1,5-2 и сам Крым 2,2, Не говоря уже про то, что при освобождении "Азовстали", были международные организации, которые прекрасно видели, что в РФ так же выезжают = )

I am sure that this film will not show the opinion of real residents of the city, because it is too big a shock for the whole world to learn about the crimes of the Ukrainian army, especially about the atrocities of the Azov battalion, who held civilians hostage, prevented people from leaving for Russia, kept whole families in basements, took food from pregnant women and if someone tried to leave the city, they shot them from behind. There are thousands of witnesses who have given interviews, but you won't see them here. This truth is not beneficial for Washington.

Нелюди из "Азова" не выпустили людей из города ,(перекрыли выезды) еще когда окружения и не было. У строили линию обороны прямо в ломах с местными жителями.... Соседние города откуда ВСУ бежали без боя, остались совершенно целыми и ник о в ник не погиб из мирных жителей

I was struck by the ghostly atmosphere of this documentary. The streets were nearly empty because so many civilians were hiding underground. The book that I co-authored with Adoriana Marik, a Ukrainian refugee now living in America, offers a glimpse into the hell of living underground during Russia's senseless invasion. I encourage anyone interested in the plight of civilians in Mariupol to read her story.

Историй много,у каждого Мариупольцев они могут в чем то отличаться,но память о бомбежках,о том как выживали,как было тяжело выжить,и казалось что тяжелее с каждым днём,выжить в том аду было настоящим везеньем,за то что мы выжили я благодарна всевышнему,благодарю Бога за то что у меня есть сейчас,что мои родные живы,что есть вода, еда,тепло,за жизнь в тишине

The streets of my city, where I have lived with my family my whole life. In reality, everything felt even worse than in a dynamically edited trailer. Much scarier. When going to sleep, I said goodbye to my daughter, my wife, my parents. And we purposely slept together, so that it would kill us all at once. putin and russia must be held accountable for all this horror.

I just watched the new movie, "20 Days in Mariupol" in theaters. It was heartbreaking yet amazing. I recomend it to everyone who has ever wanted to know what it felt like to be at the start of the Russia Ukraine war. Watch it in cinemas if you can.

I thought the same ... initially. But then I realized: There's kids who would not take this movie well and there's no right to force them to watch it. I told both my kids (19 and 21) about the movie, but I know that they better not watch it. It is simply too brutal and sad. I watched it to thew end, but it was not easy.

Видел первый труп со стороны Украинцев на Александровском, видел как мусора помогали рашистам и калечили Украинцев, видел как с крыши дома "Профсоюзов" стреляли и кидали "коктейли Молотова". I had the pleasure of watching this documentary a couple of days ago at a public event in Europe and many Ukrainians attended. Very good and impactful piece but one with many disturbing scenes of war. As it says in the movie "this is painful to watch, but it must be painful to watch". After the credits, everybody started singing the Ukrainian anthem out of nowhere, amazing showcase of solidarity. When will things like this stop happening... Slava Ukraini!

This is an incredible film (and I can't wait until it's available for general distribution). It was difficult to watch, but absolutely important. One thing that really stuck with me is how effortlessly it debunked Russian propaganda. For example, juxtaposing footage of the bombed hospital with Lavrov talking about how the Russian how Russia never attacks civilians.

Thank you for this documentary and for sending the pictures all over the world. I saw it yesterday for the first time on German television... I've never had to switch off so often because of the gruesome images. Images and fears that small children have to experience every day...in a cruel way. I have been following the war since the beginning, this movie got under my skin and clearly shows the suffering of these innocent people. It brought tears to my eyes so often and broke my heart - but that doesn't help. Ukraine must win, for democracy, freedom and all the people who have died senselessly in the war. May all this end quickly...

This documentary has been on my KZfaq feed for a while now I finally watched it this morning. I was angry, disheartened & disgusted by what I saw. How can human beings be so awful to one another? How can the people of Russia let alone Putin sleep at night knowing what has and continues to happen? It's absolutely disgusting. I thought about not finishing the documentary multiple times but I know I had to no matter how much it hurt to see the pain of those poor innocent people, the soldiers, journalists etc.... God bless them all.

Hello from Mariupol. Thank you for your movie. The world needs to know the truth about how things happened there. Now I want to tell my story. February, the coldest month of winter. The winter of 2022 turned out to be unusually cold. The occupying forces were rapidly approaching my city, but from the very first day the city was under artillery fire. In the first week, the city still partially had water, electricity, and the Internet, but from March 1, all of this disappeared. There was no such important mobile communication. It was from this date that the blockade of the hero city of Mariupol began. All this time, my family and I were there and only after almost a month we were able to leave it. We did not hide in the basements, we waited out the shellings in the corridor (it was scary, but still better than being buried in the basement). They prepared food on the landing on the bonfire. Food often expired, and in the last days, when we were still in the city, we had to drink water from the pool. We slept at -1 degree Celsius in winter clothes and under three blankets. Everything we loved was destroyed before our eyes, people died, strangers, but these are our compatriots, our citizens. From 80 to 100 thousand people died, and the total population of Mariupol was approximately 450,000 people. That is, up to 1/4 of the townspeople. I am not talking about the destroyed infrastructure. All this terror was committed by russia and it will answer for it. I'm not challenging your decisions or want to be rude in any way, but why couldn't you leave the city at the first signs of the invasion? Was it due to the artillery fire you mentioned from day 1? Or how were you prevented from leaving? Or were there other reasons? Heartfelt sympathy to you and fellow Ukrainians from Germany! We're doing all we can by housing a family of Ukrainian refugees in our house. Stay save!

Yes, and it would be really logical to do so. But several factors played a role here. The first thing I have to say is that we didn't think it was going to be a literal full-scale invasion. That the enemy will use aircraft and ships (Mariupol is located on the Sea of Azov). Enemy artillery could not reach the city limits since 2015, thanks to the Azov regiment, which pushed the enemy troops to a safe distance. And we thought that our safety was guaranteed. The enemy was approaching from the flanks very quickly and the situation with the evacuation route from the city was very unstable. Sometimes people tried to leave, but after some time they returned, and when asked why, they answered that the roads leading out of the city were already blocked by the Russians. That is, the Russians did not give a green corridor and turned people back. Even moving around the city was difficult because buses did not go to some areas that were the first to be hit by shelling, and my family did not have their own car. Another problem was the geographical location of my area of the city. Mariupol is divided by the river into two parts. One of the banks had access to the road leading to Zaporizhzhia (a city of regional importance controlled by Ukraine), and the people who were on that bank were eventually able to evacuate when the opportunity arose. Our bank became cut off from the rest of the city due to the fact that all the bridges have been blown up, and here we are left cut off on one side by the river, and on the other by the advancing enemy. I can't imagine the situation you were in ... :( I'm very happy that you could leave. Another friend of mine just left Zaporizhzhia and is now in Kyiv which gives me a lot of relief. You never know what happens so close to the frontlines. You're not a stranger to me because first of all we're all humans. I read your story with great interest and I hope this whole mess ends soon. Germany is in talks about increasing Leopard 2 production to supply Ukraine I just heard a rumor. Hope that's correct. The international community will stand by Ukraine until the conflict ends. We all feel as if we're living in hell. I hold Russian citizenship, while my wife is Ukrainian. We have both simultaneously lost our homes. And for a year and a half now, we have been forced to wander the world because we cannot be together anywhere. Now, we are not only up against war but also bureaucracy. It's all a nightmare. This. Movie industry, stop with the "in 3 select cinemas somewhere, actually available 100 years later when it doesn't matter anymore" shit for important documentaries! Just make that stuff available for streaming immediately. And please somewhere where I can pay for that movie without having to sign up for another streaming service for a year. I'm willing to shell out for a ticket, shut up and take my money and give it to me now, just don't lock me in. These teaser trailers half a year before something drops are SO frustrating! And especially for the more gruesome documentaries, such as this one: nobody wants to see them on the big screen anyway. Because the world doesn't get any better if we all get PTSD as well. Watch on a small screen if your mental health is worth anything to you.

з 2018 -2021 рік наша компанія побудувала 6 фонтанів у Маріуполі. Я приїжджала до Маріуполя кожні 3 місяці. Як перетворювався і розцвітало з кожним разом місто. Скільки всього нового було збудовано та зроблено для благоустрою.Як страшно, що місто нещадно знищували з мирними людьми. у 21 столітті блокада міста, люди помирали у підвалах від відсутності їжі та води. Боже як це страшно! Перемоги Україні , повернення всіх окупованих міст !
