Welcome to the video about 20 FORGOTTEN American Muscle Cars Every Enthusiast Should Know About
45. This fascinating KZfaq video uncovers some of the most obscure and forgotten American muscle cars ever produced. Get ready to rediscover beasts from the 60s and 70s that have faded from memory over time. These overlooked muscle cars failed to gain traction during their brief production runs, but were no less potent or bold in their day. You'll uncover quirky gems like the 1967 Mercury Cougar, 1969 Dodge Charger 500, and the 1967 Oldsmobile 442. With first-hand looks at each forgotten muscle car and details on what made them special yet largely forgotten, this is a must-see video for any classic American muscle fan. While names like Mustang, Camaro, and GTO hogged the headlines, these lesser-known muscle cars quietly delivered serious performance and iconic style. So if you want to dig into the history books and uncover the coolest American muscle cars that time forgot, this video is a treat from start to finish! Get ready to be amazed by these obscure beasts.

Studebaker did not use a ford engine. They built their own. Also, you made no mention of the R series engines available in the daytona, hawk and avanti starting in 63. The r2 and r3 were supercharged and were dominating at the drag strips during their time. Studebaker also won the land speed record with a R5 avanti which was fuel injected twin supercharged 304 v8 and was the first to do 200 mph. It was the worlds fastest car in 63.

Not a muscle car but Rambler Americans with the Six especially after 1965 when the new modern shorter stroke block came in tended to be quicker than such competitor economy cars such as the Ford Falcon Six. The 2 barrel carbureted 232 engine was advertised as the "Six that comes on like an Eight" if I remember.

The 1957 and 1958, the models were equipped with Studebaker's venerable 289or 351 CID V-8s which included the McCulloch supercharger. Add on a manual trany w/overdirve and a 4-barrel carb and up to 385HP (!), those were supercars!

As a young buck with a mid-70's Camaro in Chicago, I didn't want to drive it in those treacherous winters, so I'd pick up "winter" cars for really cheap. Believe it or not, in the 6 years I owned that Camaro, went through the following: 1973 Vega GT ($300) 1967 Charger ($310) - pee-pee little 273 V8 1966 Plymouth Satellite ($375) Maroon, modest 318 V8, factory bucket seats 1966 Corvair Monza ($300) (2) VW Beetles I made a little $ on almost every one of them when springtime rolled around. Of all those cars, I think that Satellite & Charger were the coolest.

American muscle car culture was so rich during that era that inevitably some interesting and unique models fell through the cracks.

16:00 The Studebaker 289 shares only the nominal displacement with the Ford 289. The bore and stroke are completely different, the Stude's distributor was toward the back (flywheel) end of the engine, the firing order was different, Studebaker V8s used more head bolts, and Stude V8s used helical gears instead of a timing chain for the cam.

I agree the use of Bots to recite scripts diminishes the enjoyment of a lot of videos on KZfaq. If you read the many of the complimentary comments herein they have kind of a pattern. If you go to the channel submitting the comment you'll see they only have one comment. They are bots well.

I agree the narration is poor AI or whatever. Otherwise a good lineup of the challengers at that time. Cheers 🇨🇦
