As a fellow Londoner, I know their uniforms are silly but these are actual soldiers and will knock you tf out if you touch or piss them off. Edit: never have I walked past the barracks and seen THAT many people taking photos, but usually the guards are there if members of the royal family are at Buckingham Palace. Makes it extra important not to piss them off because their boss is watching them do their duty

I find this appalling - the absolute disrespect shown the guards - and the touching of the horses is disgraceful! - There really should be a barrier of some sort. I get angry just watching.

at 03:12 you can, calmly touch or pat the horses, just DON'T TOUCH THE REINS. Some people think the guards are being choosey about who they shout at with regards the horses. But, it is almost always when they get too close to the reins or sword that the guard will react explosively. Hence tyhe wqoman could kiss the horse, but the man got screamed at. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why. The guard in black with the feather in his hat at 06:30 is not a ''King's Guard'' (Coldstream, Scots, Welsh Guards) but a Royal Scottish Archer. Although they do perfom the task of Guards when Royals visit Scotland, and in this case due to the occasion.
