I think the geometry of the cult frame should be different head tube should be at a angle so you can bring the top tube down at a angle.

A 29 like that with some skinnier road tires would probably be a great commuter, but the 20 has been perfected over the years for actual BMXing I think.

There should be more comparison videos of these different bmx sizes .26 inch bmx next to a 27.5 and a 29er.ive been searching for weeks and can t find anything anywhere. I'm around 6'1 and I'm thinking of buying a 26 bc it's much bigger than my 20 and I'm too old for street anymore and really just want to cruise .but if a 26 isn't going to be comfy for long cruises ima get a 29 although the 26ers are much cheaper generally .I can't know without seeing a comparison and don't have a bike shop to walk into .there's a couple about an hour away but they want 1,000 bucks for a 5 or 600 dollar bike so I'm def not driving there lol

Try the FIT 26 and 29 bikes. They look so clean and straight BMX style, not the over the top wheelie bike style that cost a grand + ! Fits running about $600 at the local bike shop near me.

I've got a sick Colony Eclipse 26er, it's perfect for this old fat guy and I just had the BSD Revolution laced up, still have my 20 in Flybikes Tierra that I absolutely love, but I don't ride the smaller bike much anymore.

Used to BMX as a kid/young adult, I've always been pretty tall, about 6'2" and I kept throwing my back out trying to jump my little bmx racing bike. Been thinking about buying a 29 inch bmx for a while now. Do you think 29 is a good size for a 6'2" ripper? Or should I try a 26??

I'm about the same height and also use to bmx as a kid. Right now I have a entry level Motobecane 29" mtb bike that I use to cruise around the neighborhood. I put higher bars on it and a straight stem to make it more like a bmx bike. It's fun and all but I'm also looking to try a larger bmx bike to see if I like it more. Don't forget the 27.5" bmx bikes also. So far the Cult Devotion and Sunday High C are looking good for 29ers.

@tuff guy ended up going with a 24" BMX! I love it. Had to put high bars on it. After riding for a couple months, I could see getting a 20" if the frame was long enough. I feel like I'm cheating sometimes when I do grinds because the pegs are 2 inches higher lol

Man I don’t really think it’s like buying shoes- I mean that just feel them out, whether 24, 26, 27.5, 29- they each have a unique feeling that’s all the same fun no matter how tall you are. Even the 22s are great-feeling bikes! Messing with all the different top tube sizes on 20s along with so many size options on parts as well nowadays makes it so much easier to build/ configure the perfect BMX for You. We all can ride ‘em All nowadays. Just try them all out. Buy one of each over time like I’ve been! Haha! 🤘🏽💯

It does matter tho not all headsets are interchangeable some are internal and some aren't 1 and 1/8th campy style

I have done similar by using suspension forks on 20in and 24in bikes. The geometry feels off until your on the back and the shocks squat some.

It does and it doesn’t, to a certain extent. We’ve done a video where we put a 16” tube into a 20” wheel as well as a 26” tube into a 20”. It works, might just be to get you out of a bind

Just try different sizes, dude! What size bike is it for? Generally 44:16 was pretty normal. So that's a 2.75 gear ratio. If you want that same ratio... then you'd want to go something like a 52:19 if you wanted a very similar ratio. Are you wanting a higher top speed, but slower acceleration... Or do you want faster acceleration but lower top speed? You can't really have both at the the same time. All of that plays into what sort of gear ratio you want! The smaller your front sprocket is, without changing your rear freewheel or cassette, you'll accelerate faster, but have a lower top speed... If you keep the 52 tooth front sprocket but go bigger on the rear freewheel/cog you'll accelerate slower, but be able to reach higher top speeds. Just some basic math stuff! :) Any questions, feel free to ask me! I used to race, and would change chain-rings and freewheels all the time depending on certain tracks and if acceleration or top speed was more important for that particular race!

To each their own, but I just don’t like the big BMX bikes, they remind me of the old rigid road and mountain bikes I remember as a kid, minus the extra gears (I'm in my mid 30's by the way so may just be getting old). I never even liked the old 24” cruiser class. BMX to me will always be 20” and is all I will ever ride, just feels right, even for just cruising around the neighborhood as I do nowadays. As long as people are riding and having fun that is all that matters, they just don’t look or feel BMX to me.

Depends how people use them, cause I try to shred all mine every time! 20”, 24”, 26”, And 29”. That “cruiser” label is misleading. What I don’t dig are “wheelie bikes”. They’re not BMX in my book. Haha! But plenty clips out there showing hardcore dudes ripping streets and park with big BMX ! 💯🤘🏽

Nothing against cult 29” wheel When I was working in a bike shop this guy had a 29 inch wheel mountain bike nearly every day he come in and had his spokes tightened because they come loose easy for some reason 👎
