As a 30 year plus employee of the National Park Service (now retired), not only have I been to most of these sites, I've actually worked in a lot of them. Of course, all I ever saw was their server room. But the drive to the work site was well worth it.

So happy to see Watkins Glen State Park in New York on your list! In my opinion New York State is often underrated. People immediately think of New York City and Niagara Falls. The Finger Lakes region is gorgeous wine country. The Adirondacks Region is greater in size than Yellowstone, Everglades, Glacier, and Grand Canyon Park combined. I ❤ New York!

I camped at Smith Rocks back in1974 when there was no bridge to get across the Crooked River, they built a bridge a few years later. If you go to Crater Lake, make time to take the all-day boat tour, it drops you off on Wizard Island and you have time to hike to the summit and have lunch. Others to add are Denali and Kenai Fjords in Alaska.

You’re sleeping on the Florida Everglades. It’s underrated af. People always ignore it because it’s not the typical mountain “beauty” of the other parks but the Everglades is the largest subtropical wilderness in the U.S. and has a plethora of wildlife not seen ANYWHERE else in the U.S. , not to mention the ecosystem of the Everglades is not found anywhere else on earth.

About 6 years ago my family took a trip to the Rockies in Colorado and we drove through the national park. It was really amazing driving up the mountain to the point of elevation in which trees did not grow. It was July and there was snow on the ground and we even saw elk. On top of the mountain the sky was blue and cloudless but we ran into storms as we drove towards the bottom, which was really interesting. That trip was amazing and I would love to check out more national parks and even go back to The Rockies.

Thanks Briggs I feel fortunate to have been to a good chunk of these sites. I lived in Haines Alaska for 22 years and had the chance to take a flightseeing tour over Glacier Bay. Unforgettable. By the way when you finally get to Haines, you'll be tempted to add the area to this list. As an old man told me after living there for 40 years, 'You know when I've gone to national parks and other scenic sites. I appreciate them, but I'm kind of spoiled.' After 22 years there myself I understood why. Pretty much 85% of what you can see in Alaska is in this area: glaciers, rivers, whales, moose, fjords, mountains, lakes, friendly people, two kinds of bears, five kinds of salmon, and the largest gathering of bald eagles in the world.

Lake Tahoe is amazing!! I love this lake! I grew up spending summers on the West side of the lake at Sunnyside!! My Grandparents built a cabin there!! So much fun!! Sequoia National Park is truly awesome too with all the gianormous trees!! And Yosemite National Park is the one I've been to the most in my life, camping fishing, walking and just spending time in nature!! I live near Yosemite now in the foothills!! This was a fantastic video!! Loved seeing all the park areas!!

I have actually been to almost all of these places and although difficult to put them in order , I agree wish some that Zion canyon in Utah should not be left off the top five list … if you get into some of the amazing hikes and Canyoneering it offers it is simply amazing !

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to Acadia. If you make another trip to Maine I recommend you check out some of our state parks, specifically Baxter State Park or Grafton Notch State Park. The Allagash Wilderness is a good pick as well. Or you could skip all the parks and just check out the rest of Maine.... there are great places all across the state that often get overlooked by tourists.

Great stuff! PLEASE do another one, or two, or more! Ones I'd consider including are Glacier National Park and its Canadian counterpart Waterton Peace Park, Yellowstone, Cedar Breaks, Capitol Reef, and Arches National Parks in Utah, Joshua Tree and Lake Mono in California, Snoqualmie Falls in Washington state, OK, I'll shut up now...

I've only been to the Badlands in South Dakota. But if I may suggest...Pikes Peak State Park in Iowa. They have Native American Effigy burial mounds, Bridal Veil Falls but most importantly the spectacular views of the Mississippi River. It's really beautiful in the fall. Thanks for the fabulous video, Briggs!!
