Mama made breakfast everyday! Biscuits, eggs, bacon, or sausage, grits and jelly, sometimes homemade waffles or pancakes. Oh how I miss my mama! God bless you and Chris 🙏🏼

Momma cooked 3 meals a day. Homemade biscuits for breakfast cornbread for dinner & biscuits for supper. Momma didn’t buy light-bread. She made lots of rolls & cinnamon rolls. She was an excellent momma & cook for 7 kids & my daddy. I cook like my momma did. 😁

I have a Wooden Biscuit Bowl that was my Mamas that I use to make Biscuits in over n over! I just keep adding flour as I need it and make a bowl in the center of flour, add lard n buttermilk, work up the dough n hand roll then out! I've been making Biscuits since I was 8 yrs old and I'm 68 now! For 60 yrs plus this Biscuit Bowl has been used! My Great Grandpaw Wood hand carved it out of a tree stump for my Mama for a Wedding gift to my Daddy in the late 40's! Its an old one and still makes the best biscuits! I just slide it in a white Pillow case, fold up the end and put in my cabinet! Its used everday y'all... I can make a pan of biscuits lickety split! Not takes about 5-6 minutes! I've made thousand of biscuits in my lifetime! I've never cut a biscuit out! In my time I've rolled dough is if I'm making a Crust for something or Cookies! I'd used that sausage grease to make a lil gravy! I absolutely love Grits but also love me some gravy! Yummy! I never put sugar in my Grits! Southerners don't really do that! Maybe a handful that tried it and liked it but its not a true southern way to eat them! Salt, pepper n butter! If you want to get your Kids to like'em, you add milk n sugar but otherwise, Nope! Sorry Tammy but hers in N Ga mtns, We don't do that! Whatever your taste is! We're getting bad weather up here! It ain't got above freezing yet! We're in the upper 20's... Praying for Everyone in this Bitter Cold Nasty Weather! Suppose to go down to 0°... I'm prepared for it I hope n pray! God Bless. 🙏🙏❤❤🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸

My mama never made breakfast. I made my children a hot breakfast every day but Saturday, when my husband made it. Sunday was a BIG breakfast, weekdays were pancakes or waffles or oatmeal or eggs in toast..I personally think there is no reason under the sun to not cook your children breakfast. Both my husband and I worked full time +.

Agreed. Eggs take next to no time. A little fruit and some sausage or even a frittata made ahead, boiled eggs, toast and fruit, scrambled egg and bacon sandwich with cheese travels well if there’s no time for sitting at the breakfast table. So many options. Breakfast is entirely too easy and quick to let kids go hungry (or worse yet left to their own devices at which point they will eat a cold bowl of sugar and crash before second period) in the mornings.

We lived on the edge of town and there was a dairy farm just two blocks up the street from our house. We kids used to wander thru that dairy often. There was a bin full of some kind of grain mix for the cows, it smelled kind of sweet & nice. So one day I tried some it. It didn't taste too bad. But once was enough.

My mom made cookies, pie, and/or cake nearly every day or two. She would set them out for our breakfast the next day. That way she didn’t have to get up in the morning. We did get some cold cereal once in a while, but she didn’t eat that so we had to ask for it when she was shopping. Sometimes we got it, but not every time. We would get really tired at school and I know it would affect our learning process. It also created or contributed to our eating disorders. I don’t recommend that.

Yes Lord! Single digits here in north Louisiana! Almost an inch of sleet on the ground! Pure sleet, no rain! Businesses closed as well as schools. I guess since we got all sleet after we froze all night with single digits it didn’t freeze on tree branches to weight them down! Thank God bc my son with Entergy was on call and everyone else was safe! I wanted to tell you, I still make your spaghetti with those marinated mushrooms. It’s the only way I make my spaghetti! That and Swaggerty sausage! Mmm mmm! My Mama made breakfast everyday! She mixed up what we had from day to day. Back then as a kid I didn’t think much about it but now I love her so much for taking care of us so well. Is your egg production down this winter? I noticed you have store bought.

Well I finally decided I needed to try the sour cream recipe, I bought your blending fork and this morning made up a batch. WOW not only were they so light and fluffy but they were so easy. I am so impressed with myself 😂 I love to cook and since we retired 10 years ago we have been cooking up a storm but baking has never been my strong suit.
