Hola, Bernard, gracias por tus palabras 😊 Nosotros hablamos español de España. En el resto de países de habla hispana pueden tener dificultades en entender las frases más coloquiales. El español estándar se entiende en todas partes.

I have a quick question about Number 12: why isn’t “he quedado” not translated as “I have met my friends” As Pretérito perfecto? it says: Esta noche he quedado con mis amigos en la Plaza Mayor. I’m meeting my friends at Plaza Mayor tonight.

¡Hola! Because "he quedado con mis amigos" doesn't mean that you've already met your friends, but that you've agreed to meet them in the future - you are meeting them. If you say "ayer quedé con mis amigos", then it could mean that you yesterday met them, but also that yesterday you agreed to meet them any other day. In this case, to avoid confusion, you can say "ayer quedé para hoy con mis amigos", in case you are meeting them today. Thank you for your support, and don't hesitate to ask us any other questions!

Both are equally common, but "tener ganas" is a bit more colloquial. If you talk to someone and you use "usted", you'd rather use "apetecer".

@@SpanishWithOlgaAndMiguel me disculpo...yo quería decir "te apetece." se me olvidó que el verbo es como gustar. estoy acostumbrado a usar "tener ganas de." ...y ahora usaré "apetecerse." What I like doing with your video is contrast how I would say what you are teaching. But I will use some of yours. I travel to the Dominican Republic a lot for vacation and soon to Costa Rica for the first time. I want to mix in some of your teaching. Like with "apuntarse" count me in...I just say "estaré alla, si."....Now I will work in "me apunto." Gracias me gusta todo esto! Gracias

We speak Castilian Spanish, so we are not 100% sure. But generally, yes, these phrases are pretty common everywhere.
