How to get rid of sleep problems? When was the last time you had a really great night’s sleep? Anything from body pain to your sleeping position to your emotions can disrupt your sleep cycle, causing you to wake up fatigued.
So what can you do to fall asleep when the sheep are nowhere to be found and that warm glass of milk doesn't help? A good night’s sleep is necessary for optimal health. So if you’re one of the millions of people in the world who suffers from a sleep disorder or you want to fall asleep faster, here're some quick unconventional tips for you, and sleep experts swear by them!

SUMMARY:
- Lie in bed with your eyes wide open and challenge yourself by repeating "I will not fall asleep" repeatedly. Our brain isn’t very good at processing negatives, so it’ll take this as a command to fall asleep instead!
- What if it’s your thoughts keeping you up at night? Easy: get them out of your head and onto a piece of paper.
- Try replaying your day in reverse. Remember every single mundane detail from the moment you went to bed to the second you opened your eyes this morning.
- Speaking of your eyes, keep them off the clock! When you keep checking the time, it stresses you out, your cortisol levels rise.
- Before you say you always check the time on your phone because who has a separate physical clock these days anyway - the phone needs to go too.
- If you’re now not sure what to do with your eyes, just roll them!
- You can wash your face with cold water. Instead of shocking you awake like you’d assume, it works to reset your nervous system.
- A warm bath before bedtime kind of works the same way but on a much larger scale.
- Make sure your bed is open on both sides and that it’s in the northwestern part of the room. Hey, Feng Shui has been around for thousands of years, so it must work!
- Don’t forget to put some socks on before you get under the covers! Studies show that if your hands and feet are warm, it helps regulate your internal body temperature.
- Try putting a pillow between your legs to avoid tossing and turning all night.
- And, speaking of which, what better way to fall asleep than to cuddle up with your pooch? Hey, it’s been proven by science!
- Make sure you’re getting enough sun during the day.
- Feel free to take a nap during the day! Napping for 30 minutes or less can improve your overall brain function, which aids in sleep!
- Avoid late-night eating, even if you swear you’re about to fall into a food coma!
- And finally, try to always go to sleep and wake up at the same time.

Huh? Different for me. I use electronics for 2, 3, hours before bed so my eyes get tired and sore and my brain signals me to sleep, so I jsut put my device back and I sleep instantly. But today was the day before school, I thought not to use the device but instead I couldn’t fall asleep bc I wasn’t tired enough! Been hours (8-10 hours) and I still can’t sleep

I fall asleep by thinking about the best things in life. Liking chilling at the beach or playing a fun game with my family. Not only do I fall asleep quickly, it also reduces my chance of having nightmares.

A little tip or maybe just based on my experience: Sleeping with many pillows around or beside you helps, because you'll feel more comfortable and close you eyes without thinking anything for atleast 2 minutes and baaam *and don't forget to pray* :)

I use an acupressure point. Hold the inside of the little finger joint closest to your palm with your finger and thumb of your other hand. Press firmly counting to 30. My breathing slows and deepens, my eyelids close as it relaxes me and gets me ready for sleep. I am out like a light in seconds! It’s great and sometimes I don’t even get to 30!

That intro is dead-on! When I know I have to wake up early in the morning I don't get sleepy until two hours prior to the designated time of wakefulness! So when I find myself thinktoog to much I grab a book and read a few chapters. After 20 mins, its cozy star dream-ride for me!

#1 tip i do i put on my headphones lay down in bed and have a playlist of what ever interest me and turn off all light and put the fan on i fall asleep in less then 2 min ever time

Sometimes if its too quiet I'll listen to ambient sound on KZfaq. That really helps me to fall asleep

If you guys haven’t already, you should try ASMR! Sure, some of it might be creepy, but there’s such a wide range of triggers that can help you fall asleep. You just gotta try different triggers and find which one works for you. It really does work!

I freaking swear no matter how much I sleep if my mom wakes me up I am going to be grouchy the rest of the week Edit: life hack: set your alarm either 30 minutes or an hour earlier than the time you usually set it so that when you hear the alarm you will have time to wake up before you have to get moving. (If you are a really tired person, I would suggest an hour earlier but if you’re a light sleeper or not as much sleep needed, I would say the maximum of 30 minutes but if you think you can do smaller, even like 10 or 20. It just depends on your sleeping habits) sorry that was really long lol

I remember when I was wide awake and couldn't sleep, I was SO tired and miserable. I tricked my brain by thinking I was gonna get up and stay up. Get out of bed, turn all the lights on (I have a very tiny apartments, so....I'd get dressed brush my hair, brush my teeth. I'd wash my face and maybe turn my PC on for a few minutes. I then got up and lay down on the sofa, covering up with a light blanket. Just relaxing for a minute, that's all, just gonna close my eye for a moment before I get back up. I'd fall asleep. My brain didn't want to go into a long night sleep but didn't mind that little nap that lasted until morning.
