@@ajburrr Actually, neither Warren Moon or Dieter Brock were rookies when they made their NFL debuts. Any player who participates in another professional football league before playing in the NFL is considered a first-year player. So because of their CFL experience, they were first-year players. As were Jim Kelly and Steve Young as USFL vets. It also extends to other forms of football as well. P Darren Bennett was a veteran of the Australian Football League and K Josh Lambo was a goalkeeper in the MLS.

There's two more years that deserved at least honorable mention. 1995 - First pick RB KiJana Carter - An unfortunate bust due to injuries that started as soon as he joined the league. Undrafted - WR Wayne Chrebet - A solid performer for about a decade with the Jets. 1987 - First pick QB Vinny Testaverde - An average long tenured journeyman with brief bursts of success. Undrafted - Jessie Tuggle LB - Became the heart of the Falcons defense throughout the nineties and one of the franchise's best ever.

@@fredleeland2464 I agree he wasn't every great or anything but I have no doubts that if he was in a better situation even not the best he could still have become one of those good qbs on a bad team, but however you wanna put it he never got a chance to be good, even times when he had a pocket he was likely paranoid it was collapsing at any moment which is something that would really get to you getting sacked 5 times a game like he did But yes, we know he never got to actually play at a high level whether he wasn't ever gonna be good enough or otherwise noone can develop in a situation like that. This is what always confused me about college players transitioning to the Pros. How can there be that much disparity between a #1 pick and an undrafted player. With as much resources as the NFL pours into college scouting, its wild how some undrafted players are viewed as not worth a draft pick but then they come in and ball out. 4:00 How is Joe Jacoby not in Canton? I was certain he was before watching this.

Important point is that #1 picks go to bad teams, so it might be interesting to consider the #1s who met the challenge & turned those bad teams around. Also which franchises have wasted the most #1 pick talent?

I didn't like comparing left tackle to wide receiver, etc. You really should have made this list by position

I mean can only had a few good years so I personally would consider Doug Baldwin for this list. I think he should at least be on the too close to call one

Love Cam Wake with my whole being. Damn shame he won't make HoF (unless CFL is considered which... eh is dicey) But whatever. Absolute Dolphins legend. Forever my fav player.
