I look at you different couldn't see you as cop until now lol. I see it but man that's a huge career shift. I now I'd like to be in your shoes one day but I'm 2 year's away from making things turn around but this motivates me to get started with a 3 year reasonable plan thanks for sharing.

I love the story time feel. It's nice to get to know who you are and what you're all about. I already knew a bit about you since watching the Call Me Mabie doc, and of course watching a bunch of your videos over the last couple of years. I'm totally jealous that you have been able to retire. I'm in the exact same situation as you but I have 11.5 years before I can retire and do this full time. I really related to everything you said about just wanting to do this full time. I'll be there someday. Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the great work!

Huge congrats!!! Serving and being a police officer are top notch and I can’t thank you for your service enough! Never doubt that! Your story with your daughter - give me a second while I get this out of my eye! I’m 52 and I do the job I dreamed of when I was young. I make a decent living. It all seems good. But it took me until I was 52 to know this really isn’t my dream job and being an engineer isn’t that great. Much luck to you and congrats for making the right change!

This is the first one of your videos I remember watching, although I find I am already a subscriber (I subscribe to way too many channels - lots of hobbies and interests). I REALLY appreciate your understanding of how "police officer" sounds to some people. Your description of your service was wonderful. I retired at 58 five years ago after working 30 years as a software engineer and then a VP at a small university. I, too, thought it would feel weird the first week after retiring, but it just felt right. I’m excited for you in this next stage of your life! So many wonderful things happening for you.

Congratulations, Jonny! On everything, and thank you for your service in both fields. I also completely understand having larger age gaps between kids. Our eldest is almost 18, and our youngest is almost 3. I am so thankful I found your page recently. We live in Norman, and I'm currently buying the tools I need to convert our large shop into a woodworking shop. I've been designing since I was a small child and did a little building here and there. I've mainly just done home repairs and small craft projects for the last 20 years. I'm so nervous, but I would rather try and fail than never try at all.
