This is a very nice BMW X5, I still like it and still running running with not problems after all the repairs I did.
Just give good maintenance to your BMW X5 and I will last long.

I bought a 2002 x5 3.0i when it had 120K miles. I've driven it over 2 years and other than a few minor bnb issues, which was the actuator and the window motor. It funny how everyone claims German cars are impossible to repair. This is not true. I've had a blast doing the repairs on my X5.

Great video Francisco - I found it very helpful & am experiencing most of the issues you mentioned for the N62 4.8is. I bought second hand so too late to do a lot of the preventative maintenance, will have to go down the repair & replace road... You didn't mention the P0444 code forthe Evap Purge open circuit which is my latest issue to fix.

How were you able to fix the sunroof when it malfunctions? On my car, the sunshade went all the way back but it didn't want to close again. Then, eventually one day the front half of it came foward when i pushed the switch but not the rear portion... So now the front part of the sunshade is closed and the back half is stuck in the open position... Also the rear portion of the roof itself was once stuck open, but i was able to manually shut it.

Hey, I have a 2002 e53 4.6is, my first bmw...and I've had to deal with the valve cover gasket replacement issue already. Now it seems like my battery drains overnight, and when go to start up the next morning, it won't crank. Do you think that it could be time to change the alternator? Go for the inline six engines they will run forever as long as you keep up with the maintenance. A lot of problem bmw owners have is they ignore the problems and end up causing more damage. I was a skeptic when I bought my bmw but after owning it for over two years I can say they are as reliable as a Honda.

You see these videos saying that this vehicle or that vehicle have "common" problems but there is never any analysis of what "common" means. BMWs are often bought cheaply and some people who buy them either can't afford the professional maintenance they require or don't have the skill set to do the maintenance themselves.

Take it to a place that has a smoke machine and they'll put it inside and see where to smoke leaks out to find the leaks and will clean out all the drains for you, you'll probably not do it right and you need it done asap as the electrics in the boot floor will get fucked, along with other things.
