My door would not unlock, so I took it apart and show you what I did for a quick fix. I also explain about a part you can use to replace a broken plastic grommet.

Toughest part for me was removing the inside door panels with petite woman hands and strength but it worked. It was just a jammed bottom latch so it all worked out real well. Boyfriend is very proud of me for tackling it myself' So, I guess I will be learning to do my own oil changes now. Thanks so much for your video!

Hey thanks a lot! I'm a 74 yr old woman, and I had the door panels off, tie wrapped the cable for the fix, and panels back together all in about 20 minutes. Works great!! Saved lots of $$$ !!

I had to stumble through a few videos on this problem before I found yours. The GoPro and showing the project start to finish were amazingly helpful. Thanks to you, my three kids don't have to climb over the front seats to get to their car seats.

Just to let you know...You saved me a lot of time and money and your tip worked. Thank you very much. Just think if you had to leave your vehicle with a mechanic or whoever fixes these things, they would have charged a chunk of change. Thanks again

Glad it helped... there are a lot of videos on how to replace those ends, and it will fix it permanently. I just keep re-adjusting the wire ties and tension... its much easier. I still haven't found the time to fix it right LOL......

I have a '99 and had to do both back doors. Yes, it's a pain. No, it's not really easy ( not hard, just a aggravation). Yes, if I did it you can too. Saving near $400.00 by doing it myself... now that's real good.( and worth every minute it took! )

Dear You Tube Dude, Thanks for a great video !!! While I can more than afford to have this maintenance done, a man in my day was responsible for fixing his "stuff"... This is how we teach our kids (grand kids too) respect and responsibility... I can't figure out why the You Tube "Dudes" spend the time making such great videos, but thank you... My grandson feels like a "million bucks" for helping Grandpa fix his truck... At 300,000 miles, this repair would have exceeded the value of the truck, but I intend to get at least another 200,000 out of it... Thanks again !!!

That has been my solution on the last few trucks I've owned.

I see the zip tie solution a lot, but no one shows or describes exactly what the problem is, or how zip ties will fix it. I assume that's because once you've opened it all up, the problem and the solution are obvious and easy to figure out.

The part to fix it is like 10 dollars why not just replace the plastic ends with the metal replacement?

You made this video about quick-fixing door latch cable issue, but you stressed more on removing the door panel instead. Isn't it kind of weird? You should show clearly how you string the cables with the right tension so they would the latches when pulled.

It's called common sense. It was easy and he gave simple instructions that a two year old could follow! LMAO It took me only a second to see what he did and it fixed both of my doors!

@@skystormfishing Dude, maybe you need to drink less coffee. TreyRois was just making an observation to help make the video better. Throttle back.
@skystormfishing

Ken In Atlanta His observation was unneeded simply because he showed exactly how to do it and didn’t need someone’s two cents when he clearly explained it in the video. Just like I said before a two-year-old could follow the instructions with ease. People these days think they need to come on here and critique someone else’s video instead of just minding their own business. Maybe lay off the crack pipe and you would understand that.
