i just bought one off of ebay for my 88 XJ, it was from MQTAuto, and it was only $31.98. i can tell a pretty big difference from the stock air box. it took about 10 mins to put on, and it does add MPG. definitely try it out!!

I just put mine on this afternoon....took about 15 mins (mostly removing old box, which had the bolts all rusted out), I like how you mounted it, I might try that!

I used a flat screwdriver and put it next to the wing nut underneath the air filter cabin and pulled up and at the same time I was on bolting it,hope it works for you cause it worked for me.

i have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 v8. anything i can do to it? already have k&n airfilter and custom muffler. can u add turbos to these? i know you can do superchargers but very pricey

I live in Michigan and it's always cool down here so I'm not putting a heat shield on mine but it's not a bad idea to install one.I was thinking of putting scoops on my hood for more air flow.

Where is the scoop/intake? You only put an airfilter on it, its not a ram air intake. Besides, its taking in hot air now this way making the engine perform less, the factory one takes cold are from the front at least...

There are many mistakes made here, mind you im not here to criticize just to inform you and give you some knoledge about air induction. First, when buying a intake you want to find a kit that includes a custom box. Second, the main purpose. Of a cold air intake is for the vehicle to suck in cold air. Without a proper heat deflecting box this defeats the purpose and can actually cause a decrease in power. Though it looks sweet you want this to work right for optimum performance. And last you have to be cautious where your intake is breathing air. You must be sure no water can find a its way onto the air cleaner. This could cause engine failure.

IF YOU BOIL THE END OF THE HOSE FOR A FEW MINUTES, IT WILL SLIP RIGHT ON.

I have seen better kits. You could of heated the tube with a lighter. I would have used black though.

Just so you know its not going to be cold air unless you have a way of blocking off engine heat. I dont think they really help at all, only good for sound. If you cant block the engine heat it may be worse for power, modify the stock airbox so it will pull cold air in from the grill.

That's not ram air compa. Ram air goes outside to a scoop or foward facing opening. The faster you go, the more you ram the air into the intake. The point is to get cold, dense air into the engine. This is not cold air either. This is 100% under the hood. It's hot, doesn't vent, and you're sucking hot air from behind the radiator. I'm sure you lose power. Especially on a hot day All this does is "look nice" like you said. It sounds louder for sure. The factory intake is muffled for most drivers. Honestly the factory intake probably performs better. I'm not trying to knock you. I'm just helping you out. 👍😉

This is not a RAM air intake. This is a cold air intake. They are different.
