S1 Elise in MMC form was 730KG & 340R was 700KG, so an S1 body ie. front & rear clams & doors weigh little more than 30KG.

The Rover running gear in these and the Elises isn't too bad. The main problem with them was weak head gaskets, but you can buy much stronger aftermarket parts to fix them which aren't that expensive (most are probably upgraded by now). They are easy engines to work on.
