I think I'm starting to understand that a lot of Soviet high tier units are meant for holding a position than they are for taking them. Apocs are great at defending points with a squad of siege choppers but attack with them and the slow movement causes them to get overwhelmed

Great point. Also, in low numbers and small spaces the apoc is superior. One apoc can destroy a lightly defended base all alone

I mean, they literally can't shoot on the move. Apocs are best at defense.

Apoc hustle is real! Also, hope you saw "TG Sacred" unlocked a bunch of RA1 and Tiberium Sun units within the RA2 Yuri's Revenge code, you actually might be able to compare Apoc vs Mammoth, as Mammoth was one of the units.

Yes and no, at any time a greater proportion of the apocalypse tanks can be engaged, they don't just win because they have better stats but because the Rhinos can't engage effectively and use their number advantage. The Rhino would tanks would likely win comfortably if the formation was changed but this wouldn't be possible with this many units on the screen

@@someguy7564 you'd need a lot of micro management to beat a group of apocs with rhinos. Which isn't worth it in an ingame scenario

@@enrique8292 I was thinking more of a central oval of Apocalypse tanks with Rhinos attack moving into its center as a scenario, with both parties being able to fully engage at once. It would not be possible for the oval to be very large

Try counting all the missed shots. Apoc shots missed are severely impacting its efficiency, I believe.

Its a real shame that spys are capped to just allies in base RA2, if they belonged to both sides as they do in a lot of mods I would imagine that stealing veterancy by spy and then spamming apocs would be a viable tactic in multiplayer just because of how severe that initial buff is.

WOW! LAG! No wonder it only needed to use 64 MB of RAM, imagine 16GB then everything is a lot smoother and plays at 60 fps or more.

Actually, the limiting factor is the game engine itself, so having more RAM would have not helped
