man good call on that Virus record. i have it and havent listened to it in a couple years. i never picked up on the crust influences in it, which kind of casts this record in a new light for me. i can hear the exodus in there too in the brutality of it. congrats on the 2k subs, you deserve it.

I have a CD copy of Onslaught The Force. Great often overlooked 1986 thrash album. People get too hung up on the Big 4 always having the greatest thrash albums. Yes those are great too, but there's also other albums that are just as great, perhaps even better.

Nice, Entombed 's Clandestine, so glad this was included - surely I'm in the minority; I prefer Clandestine than Left Hand Path album. And vocals are just fine. It may be because I have good memories when this album was released and it does have more... Melody than the Left Hand Path. Though it is not fair comparing how good it is from their previous effort, a bit of unique albums.

I agree man , Clandestine to me just sounds like a band evolving into a more structured sound at the time. I don't mind the vocals and think the songs just crush, even though it's a more thrashy record compared to LHP. Cheers!

Definitely agree on a good chunk of these. I dig Mental Funeral, but I much prefer Severed Survival, and even some of the more recent Autopsy albums. Personally, I thought the vocals on Clandestine were goddamn PERFECT for the style. Like a guttural pirate. Great video, Dennis!

First off- sick fucking hoodie! Virus- Force Recon! One of my favourites, love that album. Their second album, Lunacy fucking rules too. Pleasure To Kill is still vicious as fuck. Great cover art too. Schizophrenia absolutely rules too, great production too Really dig that Coroner album too. Mental Funeral is a top tier record for me, best production on a Death Metal album ever. Clandestine is my favourite Entombed album, absolute belter! Survive is a flawless record, the dings, production, THOSE vocals..... Dealing With It is an absolute weapon, so good! Cryptic Slaughter is a bona fide classic too, great album. Leave Scars is my favourite Dark Angel album, some heavy shit on it. To Mega Therion- nuff said!! Of course Venom had to be in there! And Bathory for the coup de grace!! Great video Dennis and a lot of my favourite albums!

I thought Leave Scars was their 3rd album? Because in 85 they had We Have Arrived, then Darkness Decends. I have Darkness Decends, Leaves Scars and Time Does Not Heal, which is actually my favorite one, except the Joey Belladonna-esque vocals. But there's so many kick ass riffs on it.

Congrats on 2k I know people throw around the comment channels deserve more subs but it certainly applies to many if comparing to other channels. I would hope to think trash is and has always been a spelling mistake and said by people who didn't or don't know thrash 😅 I'm thinking Survive probably doesn't get shown as much because the people who have it have had it for years and for everyone else it's not an easy one to come across these days? I need to give Darkness Descends another chance as the music is killer but I've never clicked on the vocals. Great idea for a contest I'll certainly try and dig 10 out in the next few weeks. I can totally understand why someone would like the debut releases more regarding NME & Discharge, but in both cases they went more extreme and far more dark with their followups and that appeals to me, though I'll always be an old crust head hah. Speaking of OLD, yeah man, I absolutely love the Old Lady Driver's debut, it's so fun and honestly pretty groundbreaking in its own way. It's like the Ween of grind. But Lo Flux Tube & The Musical Dimension of Sleastak are just challenging, cerebral, sonic earbombs that I feel elevate them almost to some modernist avant-garde level that dispels any concept of genre, and that was fresh as hell in the early 90's, especially in extreme music.They should have signed with John Zorn or something hah

Man I'd love to see a video talking about the best death/black/thrash demos of 1985-1987. That tiny time frame happened to shaped the world of extreme metal as we know it even today, nearly 40 years later. And I don't mean just talking about the same Necrovore, Slaughterlord, Terminal Death, Insanity etc classics, whatever more obscure ones you know of that we God damn mortals certainly don''t because your collection & knowledge is so encyclopedic! I'd kill for someone to talk about shit like Satanic Legions Of Death, Prime Evil, Legion of Death, Hellish Torment, God on His Knees, Funeral Bitch, just all that old shit that fucking no one knows about, and it's so devastating, because it's so important to talk about. That's why so many people, even people pretty deeply rooted in the scene, are so confused to how it could go to slayer to bathory to mayhem or hell hammer to possessed to morbid angel with these vital intervals not filled in, especially since the concept of underground tape trading is so foreign to modern ears. My bread & butter is the 80's extreme scene, and I'm not a particularly old head, I was born in the mid 80's myself, but after getting into all the extreme stuff of the 90's onward by the 2000's I felt like I had to dial it back to the origins to even understand it, and a lot of that shit ended up being some of my favorite extreme music!
