You don't need an expensive bike to travel the world. I'm starting in May this year on a DR650. I picked up a '98 with only 9k miles for only $2,800 USD. I did put another $3,500 into making her ready but split over 5 months of winter months. My monthly budget is only $500 a month but camping and cooking is cheap. I'll splurge on a hostel and fastfood now and then.

Buenos dias Francisco, en breve tendré una 1190 adventure, tendría que mirar algo en concreto o dan algún problemilla? Nunca he tenido una ktm. Estoy un poco intranquilo por la fiabilidad.. espero me ayudes, muchas gracias

Sorry I didn't quite get the question. The 4 screws that hold the headlight never really broke before. Even after i crashed once...they held up somehow

@@PaoloCattaneo ok I found the actual 4 frame mounts / posts where they are to the neck were broken off maybe check rite in thier you can spot them when you take the headlight out,worth a check for future big adv,cheers crust.

Ciao Alessandro. Grazie mille per il commento. Tra il 1190adv ed il 1090 adv r non c è molta differenza a livello di motore. Il 1090 r è forse il piu azzeccato tra la serie 1x90 (incluso i 1290). Un ottimo compromesso tra la potenza devastante del 1190 adv ed il 21” del 1190 adv R. 130cv sono decisamente tanti sia per la strada che per l off ovviamente. Se fai anche off, sicuramente il 1090 è migliore. Se invece fai prevalentemente strada, il 1190 è un missile. Se invece hai qualche soldino da spendere, il 1290 sas nuovo (2021) è davvero spaventoso a livello di guida stradale. Un passo avanti in tutto rispetto al 1190 adv. Ma costi decisamente più importanti. Se dovessi prendere il 1190 adv, ti consiglio dal 2016 in poi in quanto hanno aggiunto dei particolari per rinforzare il telaio ed il motorino d avviamento del 1290 superduke se non erro.

Grazie mille per per la tua risposta. Il 1290sas penso rimanga un sogno visto il prezzo. 130 cv anche secondo me avanzano. Anche a livello di estetica secondo me, siamo li tra il 1090r e 1190. Per il 1090r l'unico dubbio é l'altezza da terra della sella, mentre per il 1190 il dubbio è sulla potenza del motore. Per quanto riguarda i consumi del 1190 hai delle indicazioni? Grazie ancora

Se dovessi riprenderla magari prenderei la 1090, col 21 davanti che la rende un po piu alta, che per me va meglio e ad averlo saputo era un po piu semplice gestire la rigenerazione delle sospensioni, quando non sono elettroniche. Se non cerchi l altezza e non pensi di fare una traversata continentale, la 1190 normale va piu che bene. Coi consumi stai sui 20-22 con un litro a 105kmh. Piu aumenti piu scendi sui 15-16. Ma mai meno di 13 anche se fai il matto.

More than parts cost, is labor that may be expensive. It was a full checkup. But the bike was in mint conditions…except the shocks and the rotors.

Ciao Alessandro. Con appena 50000km la moto è praticamente nuova. Controlla freni e d apri il tappo dell olio motore. Se c è patina bianca sotto il tappo vuol dire che entra acqua nel motore dal liquido di raffreddamento e quindi van cambiati i cortechi della pompa dell acqua. Un lavoro da 100 euro in ogni caso. Il tagliando dei 30000, se l han fatto, è quasi inutile. Senti se gira bene il motore e se aprendo il gas la moto singhiozza un po ci sarà da registrare un tantino le valvole. Altrimenti fino agli 80k sei in una botte di ferro. Agli 80k i cortechi della pompa dell acqua meglio cambiarli comunque e cosi anche il filtro benzina e cuscinetti delle ruote soprattutto anteriori. Per il resto la moto è un carro armato. Vai tranquillo.

I replaced the wings pipe 3 years ago in USA. It was completely done and too loud. Still think it s the best sound you can get out of a ktm imo. The sc project is street legal though! 😉

La 1190 è una moto quasi perfetta. C ho fatto 200k km ed è stata impeccabile. Ovviamente si parla di una technologia di 10 anni fa quindi ci sono delle migliorie nella nuova 1290 che mettono quest ultima in evidenza. Ottima moto cmnq per gli smanettoni

They replaced all external scratched parts (which were a lot) but were pure cosmetic damages. Engine was ok. They replaced all bearings and obviously all gaskets. They cleaned it all up throughly. Several times. I'm posting an article about the rebuild soon. Check my insta or the KTM blog for it.
