That turbo screaming makes it worth getting up at 4am to watch some videos over coffee before heading out to milk cows.

I was yelling at the screen Go Go Go as you climbed the hill! My girl walked into the room - looked at the screen - looked at me - then walked out and closed the door. In the other room I heard "Is this why you're still not ready to go to my sisters house for dinner?!!.......Yup.

I drive about 140,000lbs or 63,000kg loads every shift as an ore-hauler here in Ontario. The average person doesn't understand how heavy that is and how much it restricts our ability to accelerate. I get flipped off constantly for doing 35km/h up hills.

I’m not a trucker but a mechanic that fixes a lot of stuff and he as a driver shows us exactly how he becomes part of the machine he is operating and taking care of and ultimately respecting. Truckers do this every day to keep all of us safe on the road.

That was a pretty tough pull. And nice job backing down that hill. That is no easy task. We encounter similar hills regularly here in the back woods of Alberta. The skip a gear method you did there is how its done. Don't let the revs down to far in 4th, pop it out of gear and go for 2nd with your foot to the floor. It falls in nicely at wide open and its all good. Takes some practice but you'd get onto it quick. Great videos! Keep it up!

I kept shaking my head as you approached the hill slowly, shifting in slow motion and never tried to pick up speed before you got to the hill... When you finally said "lets take a run at it", I was like "well it's about time!!" Hahaha!! Glad you finally made it up the hill. I would've been upset at myself watching the whole thing if you didn't. Lol!!

140,000 on a soft road you need to be shifting quicker to keep your momentum rolling.i was watching the scenery slow way down between gears.im not saying you wouldve made it.but letting it slow so much between gears doomed any chance you may have had.i learned this the hard way.

When they had crazy shit like this in the oilfield, there would sometimes be a dozer close by to pull trucks thru...lol!

Hell I do that everyday with 110,000 lb of wood on my trailer, with a total combined weight of 156,000 lb. You just got to hit that hill with everything you got at the bottom and hope like hell that by the time you hit the top you still have the RPM to make that crest. Can't be afraid to whip that horse!

I work in the Canadian oilfield, when you get to a hill like this, you gotta go full send from the start or you're DOA. Our tractors don't go much past 150k miles before they get sent to the graveyard lol

I hauled a load of stone EXACTLY like that!!! It was my first OTR full time driving job. I was working for this dude out of Kerrville Texas. He had a grey and black pete with a beautiful CAT motor, 18 speed transmission, hauling a LAND ALL trailer with hydrochloric adjustable trailer axles, the trailer would lift up from the front end to allow a big machines or an RV or bus to get on. With a winch.... And the damn thing had a fucking remote with a cable. I hauled that load of stone out if Ardmore, Oklahoma up in these hills. But i do remember when I weighed myself at the piolet/ flying J's i was at 98,000 lbs or so That was in 2006 nice times, NICE TIMES!!!!!

Bro split high to low on hills like that you czn maintain momentum better. Instead of hitting 4 low keep 3 high to get good rpm and when you start getting low to like 1000 1200 split to low to get your rpm back..run 3 low till like 1000 1200 and then hit 2 high and run it to low hope that runs you through but if you hit like 700 800 in 2 low you jam her into 1 low like ya did at the end was a nice 4 to 1 shift btw lol brother nice run and your a very smooth operator

As crazy as it sounds, when those drives start hopping and losing traction, just let out of it for a second. That stops the wheel hop and sometimes lets you get enough traction to pull on out.

That's things beast. Back in the day my friends dad used to haul fuel doubles In So Cal. Cleanest Kenworth on road. Even under carriage.

Ring axles, break gears , drop drive shafts & tear up the hog head but hold my beer & whatcha this

@10:00 on those quick upshifts use the clutch to pop it out of gear quickly and cleanly. That breaks the torque quickly as opposed to feathering the accelerator. Don't worry about the keyboard truckers who only had to use their clutch one time back in 1973 to get their career rolling the first day! You are out there in the thick of it!
