EXCELLENT REVIEW! One of the most in-depth reviews I have ever seen. If you could add the maintenance costs you have incurred that would be great.
@midealautoclub
@midealautoclub 4 жыл бұрын
Maintenance is very cheap. I replace my oil and filter every 10k km with synthetic oil ($50), I have replaced my brakes ($250). The car does suffer from issues with vacuum lines at times as it ages but is usually very inexpensive to fix. Suspension, engine, interior, exterior and transmission are all very reliable. On average I spend about $250 a year in total on maintenance and repairs.

First car was a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T, came with a VHS tape going over all the features. What a trip down memory lane. Happy to see one still on the road because maintenance costs were pretty rough.

What exact model is this car? I'm interested to know because of all those airbags...as far as i know, most A4 B5s have only two front airbags.
@midealautoclub
@midealautoclub 4 жыл бұрын
North American/Canadian cars for B5 after the facelift in 1999.5 received front airbags, side airbags and curtain airbags. I believe Europe received the B6 in 2000 while North America and Canada had to wait until 2002

6:39 And to think that in 2001 you still couldn't get side curtain airbags even in the most expensive Cadillac. In fact, I think you couldn't get curtain airbags in any American car of the time.

Some advise please my Audi A4 1996 estate has issues in doors looks and I failed to get the replacement can I replace with Aud 4 model 2001 will it fit?
@midealautoclub
@midealautoclub 2 жыл бұрын
It will probably not work. In 1998 Audi changed the handle setup between the B5 initial and mid-cycle refresh. Additionally 2001 launched the B6 in Europe which also has a different handles. You will need to try and find a 96-98 handle for your replacement.

@midealautoclub
@midealautoclub 2 жыл бұрын
2000 and 2001 in US/Canada are double din however you need an install kit, 1999 and older are single din. OEM units are really nice and I would recommend keeping them. You can install a Bluetooth/aux kit from GTA kits to the existing units. Or simply just get a Bluetooth tape.

@Tbor’s garage Nice vid! I just picked up a ‘01 a4Q 2.8 fully loaded. An import from the states (one family owner (brother from new to ‘17 then sent up to his sister here in Vancouver. She didn’t drive it very much but managed to do a bunch of ding’s/debts&scratches, the interior is mint though so I assume/was told it was token well care of by the bother. I would love to see some more vids on this car! (Sorry that this is in a reply but Utube has me band from making comments for some reason (✝️ 🤷🏻‍♂️). I see you VOD lcd looks like mine, have you looked into having it changed out? I have ordered a cheap one off eBay for under $15. I know that they are a pain to change (solder) off and back on (DIY at least). Do you have any input on this? p.s you definitely end a sub this morning! 👍🏼

US/Canada received a HP increase in mid 2000 until B6 came here in 2002. The increase was gained by new wideband O2 sensors and an update to the ECU, certain engine codes also included some forged internals as well.
