removing diesel injectors from a OM647 engine with the Injector puller tool but not pulling the tops of the injectors.

The best for removing the black death is oven cleaner when the motor is hot! Some picks and scraper/dental pics from harbor freight. Also clorox wipes due an amazing job along with some patience.

Trick I’ve successfully used on a merc 638 is to soak the injector valley in eucalyptus oil and then apply a cordless rotary hammer to the top of the injectors. eucalyptus oil is safe around wiring looms etc and we found was the best fluid to use to break up the diesel resin which had basically turned nto a result n like cement around the njectors. We soaked the injector valley for 4 days before using the rotary hammer to act as a frequency resonator. The Mercedes injector seals were replaced with Honda OEM copper injector seals as they are slightly thicker and are better quality.

Oooo maybe clean properly , hoover + air hose ! those pistons will just love all the crap going down the injector holes 😋

Are there any rubber parts inside the nozzle? If there are rubber parts I use a large amount of injector cleaner will it damage the rubber in the injector?

Haha, you sound like me when you're working on stuff rofl. 'All this stupid black death BS!' To clarify you use this special socket from the kit that has a notch cut out for the injector electrical connection? I removed my hood and I'm using a slide hammer with a claw and band clamp. Still hasn't come out.

What is the "New Way"? Penetrating lube, then tap, wiggle and shake? That's not new. That's what everybody has been doing for decades, before buying the puller. I wish you had vacuumed most of that carbon out BEFORE pulling the injector so less crap fell into the engine. Also, please put paper towels in the open holes to prevent things from falling in them while working on other injectors. And... I see wrecked injectors in the video. Thought you said "Without wrecking them"? Once you take the top off... they're wrecked. They won't pass testing and that means they are not delivering fuel properly.

Did you watch the end of the video? 1,2,4 came out 3 and 5 needed the puller.

@@polebarnmechanic3348 Not all injectors require the puller. Actually, most don't. Since you needed the puller for 2 out of 5, there is nothing special here. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what is meant by "(New Way)", like you were the first to try wiggle while you pull? Maybe I missed something? @@polebarnmechanic3348 I put it in the van and I'm running it. I hoped the stuck injector would pop out with a loose hold-down bolt, but it hasn't in the first few miles trying. This week I will try again to pull it a few ways, unless the first works. lol Since it is now under the windshield I can't use the slide hammer. I'll get the engine hot with a nice long drive then try the claw and a lever against the rear of the engine. If that doesn't work I'll be popping the top off and destroying the injector. My valve cover MUST come off, so one way or another, it's gotta' go!

You've still got to wreck the injector. What about cutting a slot for the connector?

No you don't...not sure what you mean entirely?

@@polebarnmechanic3348 you cannot re use those injectors without sending them out for calibration. You have loosened the solenoid off the top and it will have a huge effect on how the injector operates.
