I've always loved older buses. My district still uses a few Thomas built buses from the early 90s! Those things sure have some character to them!

Being european and never to the USA with covid its great to have channels like these. Not only are the super interesting because the person is but they also give you that down to earth view of everyday life in the states.

We had several still on the road at the end of this year and we still have a '99 doing spare bus duty. Excellent buses in my opinion.

This is a 2002?? Im no bus expert but Holy moley this beast is incredible she can really move. This bus moves better than a lot of the newer buses. They sure took good care of this one. The visibility looks incredible.

Why can't we all be on a schedule like JCPS? "Okay folks no work on Friday due to Derby. Enjoy your extended weekend!" My wife's a teacher and I said the rest of us have to work. DARN IT!! LOL

School buses are so underrated, people think they are slow but the mass is bigger, obviously they are going to accelerate slower but they still go the same speed as traffic

I am in the process of obtaining a CDL (I have a CLP B) but the turnings and the parking are such a pain for me.

You'll get more comfortable in short time. It's always hard when you have a trainer looking over your shoulder.

I miss these videos. I have a question for you: how much different is driving a school bus from driving a regular car/truck?

It's mostly getting used to the size of a bus. The length is 30 feet, the height means you need to be aware of trees and they are much wider than a typical passenger vehicle. Once you become accustomed to the dimensions, it's easy. It's a whole different style of driving.

My School District Still Have 2001 - 2004 Ic Ce First Generation Handicapped Regular Low Headroom High Headroom & Shorty Buses Along With Thomas C2's Bluebird Visions Thomas 3800's 2006 & 2018 Ic Ce's Bluebird 3800's All Americans & Thomas FS-65's

Does your district have small school buses? Do you know if they’ll take people with a Class C (CDL), or do they only want people with class A and B?

Our small buses are special needs. They will accept any CDL, all driver's go through training and testing regardless.

Kentucky requires a class b. You'd still have to go through training with an A.

those gauges are JUNK most of the time beating on it or reaching under the dash and moving the connectors around will make them come back on

The Kentucky Derby. It's the first of the country's 3 biggest thoroughbred horse races held on the first Saturday in May. It's a big deal here in Louisville.

"They" are fully aware they don't work most of the time. It's a common fault across the fleet. Piles of money have been spent trying to find a cure. It's just bad design.

A billion different things play into your perception of how fast you think you're going. Time of day, lighting, etc. If you've been driving for any period of time and assume you don't need an instrument to tell you your speed while historically and statistically doing one of the most dangerous activities we as humans do, then maybe you shouldn't be driving.
