Thanks for all the time you put into the camera angles and shooting this up close, so that it really showed what's needed. I'm about to do this job, so your video is extremely helpful!!

Couple things for anyone about to tackle this .. 1- The lock guide on my CRV was clipped in towards the bottom. In the video it slides right out, but I had to unhook mine from the bottom then slide it out. 2- The clip is a serious pain. A hook type tool is necessary IMO. I couldn't even see the clip so I just started hooking anything I could grab and I eventually yanked it out. 3- MAKE SURE IT WORKS!! I thought mine was fine, put it all back together, only for it to not work. Turns out my new lock cylinder (from Advanced Auto) was either defective or just a piece of shit, and the rod doesn't lock in properly so it falls right out when you shut the door. I ended up super gluing mine in... I figure I'm at 230k so I hopefully won't have to do this again! Other than that, AWESOME VIDEO, amazingly helpful. Thank you so much!!

Great video... everything i needed was right in the cmera angle ..nice close ups.. boy it looks like you really bashed your left thumb on some other project...hope its better now!

You’re welcome, glad to help. And yeah caught my thumb in between a rotor and the back bracket doing a brake job on a work van. Nail came off shortly after but my thumb is good now 👍

@@mechaniac9194 OUCH!!! it's something you only need to do once in life to get the message... Anyway regarding the CRV door lock cylinder... It seems like my issue is mechanical... For example...the key will not rotate in the cylinder (driver's side only)...it will rotate in pass side Also wondering if the power lock actuator is bad on the driver's side. Because the power lock button won't operate the driver's side lock either. I tried the easy stuff first with grafite spray n silicone Any experience or tips you might have are appreciated!

Maybe the reason the door lock won’t turn is because the lock cylinder might be for a different key or it’s not assembled right. And for the power door lock it might require a diagnosis, it could be the little motor or an issue in the wiring.
