Finally got around to doing the locker bypass on my 2006 LJ Rubicon after my LS swap. Should have done it sooner it was so easy

I just bought an LJ with the same switch installed and I didnt know what it was for until i traced it to the axle lock plug, and you confirmed this mod. Thanks... btw it works

Awesome glad I could help. You could take it a step further and wire them independently. You would have to get new switches though

Hey Todd, It's been 4 years , has the bypass been good or bad, was it worth it?

Yes. It worked for a cpl years before I ripped the axles out and put in 1tons and 40s. Also swapped a V8 in. Sold the jeep now

There's a real good diagram in a magazine book called high performance Jeep Wrangler TJ buyer's guide 1997 2006 sorry I can't send pictures but there's four different versions that you could do

Do you need a switch? Can you just ground the wires or jump them?

I just tried this, but instead of a switch, I just cut the wires and spliced them to eachother. This didn't work for me. And idea on why? Do the wires still have to go to the connector?

Yes. Best to use a jumper

Damn my lockers don't engage that fast. They flash a few times atleast. And the front locker flashes regardless of 2wd or 4low when I hit water. Any ideas?

About the speed of engaging, this was in my garage. You should engage them while slightly rolling forward. My locker lights randomly flash, even when they were LOCKED. SO don't always trust the lights. Not sure about the water. Could be getting the locker switch wet and/or exposed wiring getting wet
