In this video I replace the turbo on my 03 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 Cummins engine.
I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.

Going thru some of your earlier videos. You must have enjoyed great satisfaction to listen to a smooth sounding engine after completion. As usual, I admire your patience and determination. You have savy, great video.

Thank you. I thought the intro was a bit long and figured I’d cut it down. Also I’m thinking about posting my videos on other platforms too and I’m not sure how the KZfaq royalty free music would work on other platforms. It would be in every video because of the intro. I made the ratchet and impact sounds myself, only took 4 tries. 😁

Thank you. I ordered a set of torque adapters to finish torque the two turbo nuts. They were above the torque so I guess you can get a fair amount of torque with a little wrench.

Have you test driven it yet? If so did you find a big difference in power? Did you have any way on checking the turbo pressure before and after?

I didn’t notice any real difference between the two. I did notice a difference between the original ecm programming and the recall update due to the rpm not coming down after using the cruise control. I kinda wish I didn’t have it done to be honest. I haven’t added and gauges to it yet so I can check the turbo pressure but it should be the same.

Thank you. I actually almost forgot to do it. I ended up running the tap for the egt sensor in too far and had to drill it bigger and put a bushing in.

Info on that heater hose deal?

It is 5/8 hose directly from the heater core across the brackets I bent from some flat bar and bolted to the head. I replaced the fitting on the engine to a 3/4 mnpt to a 5/8 barb 90degree fitting. I believe it was this one. EDGE INDUSTRIAL 5/8" Hose ID to 3/4" Male NPT MNPT 90 Degree Elbow Brass Fitting Fuel / AIR / Water / Oil / Gas / WOG (Qty 01) a.co/d/5r7tPOn I’m not 100 percent it was a 3/4 mnpt size though. I’m just going off memory I know it was a 5/8 hose and I’m almost positive it was 3/4 mnpt but just check to make sure. Then I used hose clamps on the ends. I needed a new heater tube for that goes to the heater core and they are basically non existent and cost 2-300 dollars for the manuals. The automatics are around 50 but would require modifying to block a third hole to use.
