I have a stock 03 2500 w/ the 5.9 and a 48re 4spd auto w/ 137k miles. Love that they’re pre emissions and already doesn’t have a cat. Paid 12500 in February and couldn’t be happier.

If you ever have any issues with the 48RE I cannot recommend Suncoast enough..... I'm swapping a (Ford ZF6 of all things) manual into mine and sold the good Suncoast unit to a friend, it was the stage 2 unit, worth every penny. I don't run hot tunes or abuse my rig heavily like some people, it held up to everything I towed and every Powerstroke that needed to be put back into reality.

If you decide to run a tuner stick with Smarty, their Jr. is okay but I suggest the better unit. Nice find man, Sounds like she runs fantastic! I am rebuilding my 03 sometime next year with some twists, I'll be documenting it, not on this account. Have a safe Christmas man, thanks for sharing!!!

That 3.50s is a chunk of change to pay for a gallon of diesel. It’s in the 2.70 range by me in Mississippi and I think that’s pricey considering I paid 1.89 on New Year’s Day a short 8 months ago!

If you can find a Smarty jr tuner it will wake the 03 up and keep egt’s in check. We pull 20k plus and makes a world of difference I run the Smarty Jr on my 03 and the Sr on my 06. You need to put a fass or other good lift pump in it and your good to go!
@LoneWolf-cf5tp2 жыл бұрын
Why the smarty sr over the jr for the 06 ? I have an 06 too. Thanks
@txjm79652 жыл бұрын
@@LoneWolf-cf5tp More options on Sr. that I don’t need on the 03. My 03 is a dedicated tow only vehicle so I use just a tow tune with it. The 06 was my everyday driver for 13 years and towed maybe once a week so I have done some work on it (550 rwhp) and it’s still going strong. In fact, I’m probably going to sell my 2019 f-250 while prices are still ridiculous high and go back to the 06 for daily.

03s and 04s are different than 04.5-07 injector pistons turbos and ecms and tunes. 03-04 have a similar bowl to the 07.5-17 piston and injector spray pattern an 04.5 to07 have a wider bowl and spray pattern on the injection and pistons

@@GMCJay_lly emissions I guess. Remember all 5.9s don’t have emissions egr dpf. Also a ho in 03 was also less hp than 04.5 and up.
