He was really born to skate. Even at a young age, his basic foundation was already outstanding - excellent spins & magnificent skating skills. I would dare say that he got less two-footed skating and crossovers and more transitions here compared to tons of top men skater now. His jumps here are still in the works but look at his ability to bend his knees on landing already. He was born to become a skater, and with hard work he became a legend. Truly the greatest skater of all time.

10歳の時のノービスかー。この時からもう今の羽生くんですね。スピード感、スケーティング凄すぎる。ジャンプ苦手だったみたいだけど、ちょっとふらつきはあるけどそれでも10歳なんてとても思えません。9歳の羽生くんは自信満々と言われてましたけど、このときもきっと自信満々だったでしょうね。こんなにたくさんの観客の前で堂々と2分半滑られて、喘息も今よりきっと酷かったのではないかと思いますし、本当に努力してきたんだなってこれを見ると本当によくわかります。ありがとうございます。

My God, at the age of 9 he was able to cope with the music of Spattacus - famous ballet - which is still challinging for the best ballet dancers worldwide. And I missed watching him live few years later on in Zagreb, Croatia, while debuting in his first junior GP season. Umfortunately I was abroad at the time, but a collegue of mine was there and commented " A Japanese kid won and he might be the future of the world figure skating!" How right she was. Now, I hope that as a prof athlete he might one day come with his show again - after one day this pandemic is over.

skating skills are extremely important in this sport, it us the foundation. if skaters want to perform their programs well, they need to have a strong foundation. it is well known that yuzu has good ss since he was small. his spins are also excellent. what more precious, especially in current figure skating, yuzu learnt correct techniques from the beginning. let's look at that edge of 2lz, clear deep outside edge, which is hard to find in both men and women skaters nowadays. look at that clear toe pick assistance of 2t, many skaters almost turn the toeloop into edge jumps now😅 look at that 2a, no prerotation like some skaters prerotate more than 180 which turn this forward jump into backward jump😅 yuzu is so precious and fanyu treasure and love him very much. he also pays effort in giving the best performance to audience that audience can feel that they are respected😚😚

Baby Yuzu! Part of me wants to reach through the screen to pinch his adorable chubby cheeks and the other part of me is just marveling at what he was able to accomplish as a nine year old. He's such a treasure to the sport and that was obvious even at this early stage of his career. I wonder if any of the people watching me that day knew just how much history he'd be making in just a few years.
