2004 BMW X3 e83 mirror switch replacement

Discovered all windows and both mirrors were not working from the main driver side switch. I got a replacement unit online for $125 USD without the cover. I removed the door cover but that was not necessary. I did not have to replace the mirror actuators. All windows and both mirrors worked now. 👍👍👍

I have one of those plastic nonscratch tools from Harbor Freight. Comes in a set for $12.

When i use my key remote the window power down and now the front left window switch button doesn't power up,.. it only lit up.

Shok Boldaji gently pry it off with a flat screw driver

Was it easy to remove? Does the switch come with a new faceplate or did you use the preexisting one? Mine is beginning to flake and I wouldn't mind replacing my beige covers with black ones. I wish 3D printing was as easy as going to Kinko's.

Yes - it was really easy to remove. There's no need to remove the whole door panel from the door. The whole switch assembly will pry off easily if you start from the bottom first. I used my existing face plate but you can buy the switch and the face place together. Good luck!

Rick S what was ur symptoms of the switch? does it illuminate but keys not working ?

All four windows did not roll down/up. After replacing the switch everything was functioning normal.

Rick S thanks mine powered on n off but other sides switches work as normal .

vikram virdi ... I have since replaced the switch and everything is fine... my lights did work if I'm not mistaken but nothing else functioned. Note to self... don't hit deer and park car under an evergreen for 15 months... #DuelyNoted

If you are trying to remove the unit from the door panel you should start prying from the bottom. Once you get the bottom to lift up the whole thing should come off easily.
