Bad battery, bad starter, security light flashing in dash, make sure non of that is going on. 12v on the battery, put a test light on the purple wire while cranking, it should light up. Good luck and let me know what happens.

Let’s talk about the obd port first. So when you hook up your scanner to the post it wont communicate w/ the computer?

First check the fuse for the OBD port. The obd port shares the same power as the cigarette power outlet. Check the fuses and check the CIG fuse. I think that’s what it’s labeled. I think it’s a 10 or 15amp fuse.

Is the anti thief light flashing?? Also if you have a scanner, look at the crankshaft sensor RPM signal and make sure it reads while cranking. Try that let me know thx.

@@noelgutierrez9444 if the security light is flashing that means the suv thinks it’s stolen. The older GM vehicles will do that some time in there life. The vehicle won’t start becuz it thinks it’s stolen. It’s nothing you did wrong it just does that. If you don’t have access to a scan tool in order to flash the PCM, you can do a self learn program w/ the anti-theft system. There is a sequence you can follow to do the relearn of the antitheft system. I’m sure there are some KZfaq videos that show that procedure. It’s a simple as putting the key into the run position and leaving it there for 30 minutes turning it off for 30 seconds turning it back on for 30 minutes turning back off for 30 seconds and then a final 30 minutes and then off for 30 seconds. Make sure to have a fully charged battery or at least a battery charger on the battery while doing the relearn. After that the relearn should be complete hope that helps and you can start your truck. What problem are you having? Do you have check engine light codes? Make sure the ignition switch is sending power to the computer.

I have 2005 and when i stop at light or a stop sign it cuts off then i got to crank it back up why is it cutting off like that?????
