Think all RC51 owners would agree, #1 missed comment I used to get whenever I would pull up on mine,"Hey man, you have a headlight out!" lol Miss my 2004 RC51
@DasGoodMoto3 ай бұрын
Haha, yeah that's when I started riding with my brights on during the day "for safety reasons", it was totally because of the single headlight! Thanks for the comment man!

Nice vid! I've still got my 2004 yet (have it in one of my videos) and put less and less miles on it every year. Some days I could see myself selling it, other days I tell myself I never will. You're video today reminded me to "not sell it". :)

Just watched your video, your bike looks absolutely spotless! Funny that my neighbor just built a very similar lift using his quick jacks as too. Thanks for the positive comment, I'm glad to hear that I may have influenced you!

Wow...congrats on finding your original RC51. Well done. I bought and sold a new 07 Speed Triple after a year of ownership. Never found that VIN, but picked up an 05 as soon as I could. Zero plans on getting this one go.
@DasGoodMoto5 ай бұрын
Thanks man, I once test rode a white 07 Speed Triple in Marne Iowa, great bike. If you are ever travelling on I-80 between Des Moines and Iowa try to stop there. They have a small Triumph Dealership up front and a ton of vintage British bikes in the back. Its worth the stop.

I briefly owned a 2000 RC 51. It's the only sport bike I've owned that I didn't like. It was cold blooded, slow and downright unfriendly. I went on to a ZX-10R and never looked back. Glad that machine is out of my life....but most owners love 'em. To each their own
@DasGoodMoto9 ай бұрын
Yeah I get you on the slow part, your ZX10 was definitely more powerful and lighter too. Even if you didn’t like it, you are in a good position to have tried it and give an opinion based on the comparison. Thanks for your comment!

I just bought an 04. Hasn't been delivered yet. Coming from Texas to me in AZ. It has an undertail but the previous 2 owners saved all the stock parts. I'm only vaguely familiar with these bikes, but from what little I know they are very special, and coming across a very clean, original, low mile 04, I knew I should snap it up. I'll let you know what I think when it arrives next weekend. I'm excited. It will join my eclectic stable of 6 street bikes. For a while, I only had 2 but it's time to turn up the fun. I'm 76 and I want to keep riding interesting, fun bikes for as long as I can. It doesn't have to be blazingly fast. I've got an 05 MV Agusta F4 1000 for that. It's terrifying.
@DasGoodMoto4 ай бұрын
Congrats my man, I'm super excited for you! I'll be curious what you think of it compared to your F4. I've never ridden the F4 but I drool over photos! I'm 46 so it's super cool to me that you are still riding, very inspiring. Congrats again....I'm sure the anticipation is killing you! Keep us posted!
@billbmsn3 ай бұрын
I've had the 04 RC51 for a bit more than a month. What a blast to ride. I don't find it uncomfortable, heavy or slow. Sure, you're bent over, but not nearly as much as my MV Agusta F4 ot the 08 Triumph Daytona 675 I used to own. The RC51 is a keeper.
@billbmsn3 ай бұрын
The F4 is much more extreme. Terrifying acceleration. Much more HP. Brutal riding position. I understand why most F4s have very low mileage. My 2005 has only 3500 miles. People complain the RC is uncomfortable. They haven't ridden an F4. The F4 is a piece of fine art.

Ive seen these bikes with 150,000 miles on them and still running good. Others have told me they have seen more miles than that. Im on my 3rd rc 02,03,now i found an 04 with 14k and some nice and not so nice upgrades and i paid top dollar and still putting money into it. Ill never part with this one!

Love it, congrats man! The RC51 community is pretty awesome here in the U.S. "Pigfest" is going on August 8-10 at the Tail of the Dragon. Still trying to figure out logistics but hoping to make it.

New litre bikes do not look that good and those were incredibly expensive to make ,the swing arm is like art,in reality these RC51 could keep up with modern bikes on a tight road or track but you would work way harder ,a 56 inch wheelbase is very low and 75 lbs of rear wheel torque , the wheelbase on that and the Suoerhawk is the same as the 916 and less than many 600s .
@DasGoodMoto2 ай бұрын
Completely agree on the swingarm being art, it's weird how we can appreciate something like that. I still haven't tried out a Superhawk or a 916 yet, makes me feel a bit unqualified to be giving bike reviews! Hope to try them both someday soon. Also I dig your screen name, I named my daughter "Polly' after my dad "Paul". Thanks for your comment man!

I got an 04' Nicky Hayden Edition. Bought in 2012 and Im thinking about selling.... 😢 Got another kid on the way. But its eating me up thinking about it.....
@DasGoodMoto10 ай бұрын
If you need to sell it because of money for your family then I totally get it.... but if not then hold on to it! I sold my bikes when I started having kids but I couldn't stay away. I've got 5 kids now and I'm back to riding. I just dial it back and try to keep it responsible :)
