The Suzuki TL 1000 R also has gear driven cams. Something I realized after I bought it.

Quick correction, the "chocolate cam" era was pre-VFR, was with some of the original VF750 Interceptors (ive got one 1983 model), the VFR they switched to the gear-driven setup and fixed the cam issues, hence the name change from VF to VFR.

I had a 2000 with full Acro’s when they first came out and I love that bike had some epic rides and forever memories. I always regretted selling it and I bought another RC 51 in about 2020 and I guess sometimes you look back on the memories more fondly than they were because I sold it shortly after. Probably the best sounding bike from the riders perspective And exceedingly reliable but porky pig heavy, pretty glitchy fueling even flashed and tuned and only made 117hp with a nice flat tq curve

Daily rode my 2002 RC-51 for a few years before I sold it with 43k miles. Only reason I sold it, was because the part availability was drying up around 2011.

I have a love/hate relationship with with my SP1. It has both attempted to murder me on many occasions and provided some of the most perfect biking moments. I'm lucky enough to live on the Isle of Man which is an environment that suits it well (if you have good tyres and and decent suspension set up).

Great video Hero. Just another bike I’ve once owned from new and wished I’d kept. My back just overruled my head at the time.

My 03 RC had the sato high mounts as well and no one likes riding behind me due to being hit by the exhaust pressure. Speaking of sounding like a Harley, friends at work said my bike had something wrong with it. It doesn't sound like a normal sport bike, so I told them it's a V-twin thus they called it a harley-busa 😂

The coolest era of motorcycles ever! What a bike, man! They were meant to give Ducati a direct hit with their VTwin. The Suzuki TL1000 was cool too. I don't care that a BMW S1000R makes over 200hp. The character and ride of an RC51 is matchless. Its like an original Acura NSX to me. They have soul that requires riders, NOT rider's aids. Too bad you can't find the front wheel mate of the rear because they look incredible. Cheers!

My RC51 came with HELi riser bars, i personally never found my sp2 to be uncomfortable actually preferred it to the other bike other than the weight (suspension seems to be less rattled by stuff in the road; it's hard yet softer than my 600) . I also felt it's race ergonomics forced me to be in a good riding position and not be lazy. Love this bike, i sold everything else and it's now my only bike even though i ride much less now. I ceramic coated the stock exhaust to lower the heat, changed the headlights to LED, SS brake/clutch lines, lowered the gearing a little otherwise it's completely stock.

@@HeroRRvlogs I still have the bars, there's a few body bits that aren't stock like the wind screen and bars (lights and what's left of the stock rear fender still there). The main things I did up the bike were to improve the cooling, lower the gearing, ditch the intake valve and EGR.

I just recently went to look at a 2001 RC51 with only 5,600 miles. I'm also going to look at a 1999 Ducati 748 with 9,400 miles. Which bike should I buy?

The Honda duh. It’s a Honda, their only vtwin sport bike, made to beat the Ducati and it did. Look at the prices on them now and compare them to how much the rc30s have shots up in value.

Hey! There's a video I made on it 3 years ago that goes into more detail here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mqmBgbdosqm7nZ8.html You will need a custom bracket, you can make your own or see if someone on the facebook page has one for sale. Sorry I don't have a link for the SPAL fan itself, I forget where I bought it. I'm sure you can google it though and find out easy enough. I believe it's a generic 5.2" SPAL fan.
