I work in heavy equipment & drive a truck for my dad hauling construction materials. About a year ago before,my dad & I sold our two gravel pits,I used my mind for ingenuity like this on a daily basis. Me being 33 years old,seemed like not very many my age,who I had hired & tried to help them out with a 50+hour paycheck knew little to none at all about how ppl with an ingenuous mindset actually saw day to day life. Btw, wiring is something I'll walk away from. It's the one thing that I'll admit,can beat me & get the best of me. Therefore,I've always chose the easy way out. However,when it comes to my 2007 2500HD classic model personal vehicle,I would/do personally like to fix & change all my oils,any problems or hiccup's that come along with owning a vehicle. My friend,I would personally like to thank you,for your advice,also I'd like to thank you for having & caring enough about any random stranger in the world,who watches KZfaq. 5/24/2020 I received a blessing. That blessing was you Mr. Lonny & your incredible second to none video on installing this blower speed control power module. Thanks alot Lonny. God bless

I bought the resister over a month ago for my 2005 but haven’t had the time to work on it. But, I have watched your excellent video twice late at night! I could splice and solder quicker but I really like the clean look of your approach and plan on following your instructions. Thanks for the great detail and clear, direct to the point instructions. Update: I used your approach and my blower is working perfectly! Getting the wires free of the connectors was a bear. I obviously wasn’t freeing the clips and ended up cutting apart the connector from the blower to free those wires. Once I figured out that you remove the blower by pushing aside the plastic clip then twisting the blower it came out easily.

folks this is the way a damm video is supposed to be done, simple, to the point, no punk music blastin in the background. Well done Lonnie, and btw, i have same truck as this, front blows hot, back blows cold. I have recalibrated my blend doors a few times, it works for awhile then goes back to hot, and i'm in SE Texas where the heat is insane. What do i need to change out to stop this, and do you have one of these grade A vid's on it. Thanks man....Roost
@LonnieJohnson15 жыл бұрын
Put the A/C on cold and when it does that again turn the truck off and start it back up and see if it resets the controller. If you are losing cold air I would say your pressure valve, and I have a video on that and it's only about $20.

Thank you for the video! I replaced the resistor motor, and checked all the fuses, but the air will not blow out of the front vents. It does come out of the back vents still with no problem... what now?
@LonnieJohnson15 жыл бұрын
Do you have power from the resistor plug that is connected to the motor? and if so did you check to see if the motor works by connecting it to a 12v power source. If you hook it up to a 12v power source hold the motor tightly so you don't damage the fan when it kicks on. The back should have its own blower and resistor.
@mikehammer21245 жыл бұрын
LonnieJohnson1 it should. The air stopped blowing from the front vents, we purchase a new resistor, and I connected everything back like it was originally today, but nothing changed. I checked like 4 different fuses, and all of those were good to go as well

Take it out and connect it to a 12v battery red wire to positive and black to negative. Make sure you hold it tightly because the cage is plastic, if it turns and hits something it could break it and cost you more money.

My 2004 GMC Sierra was squealing like a banshee when it got really cold here and I had any fan setting on (until truck warmed up after 30 or so minutes), couple days ago I smelt some burning and the fan speed knob no longer kicks on any air flow at all. Did my blower motor crap out, or resistor? I looked at the harness plug and it doesn't look like any wires are burnt/melted.
@LonnieJohnson15 жыл бұрын
You can pull the blower out and check it to see if it still works by putting a 12v current to it.
@JulianBowmanify5 жыл бұрын
@@LonnieJohnson1 I am almost at the blower motor, will have it out tomorrow. What tools would I need to put 12v into it?
@LonnieJohnson15 жыл бұрын
Use 2 wires and connect them to the positive and negative side of the battery. Connect them to the blower or just the positive and make sure the blower is grounded to medal or to the negative side of the battery. Be careful because if the blower kicks on you could damage the fan so make sure you are holding it tightly.
