All you need is the cluster pin outs for the 96-00 civic and for the 03-05 civic. Match the wires with the same function. Some wires have the exact same colors.

@boardinrider The 2003+ Civic does not have a wire for the temperature gauge. It runs off of a multiple control unit (Don't remember the exact name, but that's what it is). To get the temperature gauge working, you'd have to solder the temperature wire directly to the circuit board.

Give me a little time guys. I think I may have found the pinouts I made to do this. I will post them in a few weeks. I am cleaning them up. Been busy with work. Stay tuned!!

@californiaalvin I don't understand what you mean by the upper part of the cluster. I took the entire cluster from the 2003-2005 Civic and got it to fit in my 97 DX. There is no need to register with the DMV, but make sure that you get a cluster with mileage close to what your original mileage is, or it will be marked down as odometer fraud. Also, I didn't get the check engine light functioning 100%. It needs to work to pass smog. I didn't have the time to deal with that living in Cali.

@californiaalvin Yes. You cut the dash harness and match the same function wires together to the new connectors. You will also need the connectors and about 6 inches of wiring from the 2003-2005 Civic to match the dash harness wires up with.

It should bolt right in and work just fine. If it's not working it might be a problem with the cluster itself.

The wire has to be soldered directly to the gauge itself on the cluster. The 03+ Civic temp gauge is connected to the multi function unit (can't remember the exact name). I never got a chance to do that.

I installed instrument cluster from Honda Stepwgn 2004 to the CR-V 2001. And it works! Including the temperature gauge and all LED indicators. Video on my channel

@jeffprrsh Just gotta get the pinouts. You need to cut the dash harness to get it working. It's just a Civic DX d16y7. Just my commuter gas saver car.

@PANAMERICANOPUTO92 Yeah. It sucks that it can't be adjusted. Some of the GM ones and other kinds of cars can be reprogrammed to whatever you want it to say in the event that the entire instrument cluster needs to be replaced.

On question...the miles. It shows the milage for the 05 and not the 97...it might fuck things up when you go to sell it

You can only change it, if you have something like a Honda S2000 cluster. Though it is illegal to change them.

great work bro, i've done a similar thing, i've put a 2005 DC5 Type R cluster in a 92 CRX. the Temp gauge does not work since the signal is digital coming from a Multiplex control module in the DC5. do me a favor buddy, can u give me the pin-outs for this cluster? thank you and once again great job and good luck with ur Honda.

I don't think you can change the mileage on this cluster. You just have to keep track what your mileage was before.

hey this is really cool upgrade for the civic, really updates the interior so whats needed for this i know the cluster from and 05 but do we need the pigtails or do the stock ones work just re-pin them? also ive read of the temp gauge that reads differently so how do you solve this do you have some links that can help me out thanks...
