I just traded my 2006 1000cc fireblade in for the 2023 1000cc RR CBR, that 05 You have there is no joke, it's a monster! Beautiful Bike.

@@headrace4863 The RR-R 2023 has the same engine as the RR but is factory tuned to be faster apparently and let me tell You the RR is already too fast for me not sure who could want anything faster unless You plan on racing baghtis every day.

@@amazingvideo2869 The RR-R motor is quite different from the RR. It has the same bore and stroke as the RC213 GP bike, the changes from the RR are extensive.

This is a great video, can hear the bike perfectly and can hear you speaking too, absolutely great. I got the 2001 Fireblade, my first supersport bike and I absolutely love it, but been contemplating going up to this model.

'The last model before ABS became optional" is incorrect. The 06-07 rr6/rr7 still came without ABS or traction control and no option to have it either.

Many thanks. The 06/07 are still SC57 models, with only minor bodywork etc changes, with abs optional following the model code. Yep, absolutely correct and thanks for the info, agreed. 👍

@@davapod many thanks… it was what made me chose this one over a couple I looked at. Hideously expensive system when new… hence very very rare. Sounds just unbelievable and featherweight compared to the standard system. The bike was weighed at exactly 200kg kerb just last week. 👍

@@headrace4863 You are a lucky fellow indeed. Back in the early 2000's I had a 954 that covered 21000 trouble free miles before lack of cash forced me to sell it. To this day is one of my favorite bikes. Recently I have been looking fireblade's from this era circa 2004 to 2007, before the blunt faced model came out, and your example is the kind of fab unmolested machine I'm looking for.

How comfortable would you say this is mate? I’m considering the gixxer 750 but I have a love for Honda. Put a lot of people say the 750 is very comfy for a sports bike so I’m in two minds atm.

@@kentucky_brew3678 good question that… I’m 6.1” and about 90kg. By about the 2 hour mark, it’s time to get off for a leg stretch. Full tank is about 130 miles range, which is just about right. Once you’re back aboard then after about an hour it’s time for a break again. 2 up, like any sports bike, it’s very cramped. 👍

Get a certificate of conformity from Honda 😉🫡 these definitely meet ULEZ. They were just idiots and did it off the year & euro standard not the actual emissions

Ha, just after you said about shutting up and concentrating a bit, I knew I recognised that sweeping left off the roundabout! Do that route regularly and that one plus the one continuing the 36 are favourites of mine :D In fact, this video was posted about the same time I got my 06, bloody cracking bike. Curious, where do you take it to the track? Have yet to see what's actually local and beginner-friendly.

Hi there. Yep, both 929 and 954. Probably the best balanced road/sports bike I’ve ever ridden. The RR4 onwards (like this RR5) are a very different machine and not quite as aimed at the road. If you have a 954, keep it. They’re awesome.👍

What a great, well looked after example. Where did you find it?

@headrace4863 10 ай бұрын
Hi there, good to hear from you. 👍 It was located just a few miles away in Bournemouth. I was making some sneaky-beaky investigations when working on a deal with Ducati, and one thing led to another. Bit of a lucky find, wasn’t it. As you’d expect for a 14k mile Honda, it rides like it was just un-crated. 👍👍

what teamperature range should it operate in? feel like my 2005 1000rr runs super hot in traffic, like over 100*C
@headrace4863
@headrace4863 27 күн бұрын
@@danielbbg6199 quite normal for them to run at 103-105c when in traffic. The fan will run nearly all the time in town. The radiator is huge but ultimately needs airflow to cool. Normal running temp is 85-90c. 👍

@@headrace4863 thanks man, im a little worried, i only have dirtbike experience, so im used to agressive bikes, got the fireblade as 1st street bike (im chill with the throttle dw), and it just runs so hot, it reached 113*C at one time, it was at idle for a bit longer than supposed to, and idk what i should check for, because it feels anormal, the fan couldnt keep it at a stable temperature, thinking about selling/trading it for a watercooled bike, i mostly ride city/chill routes, with ocasional speeding, so idk if its the best fit for me. (P.S. thing is an absolute beast, and in very good condition for its age)
