2003-2008 Mercedes Benz SL500. Remove side panels. Remove 2 torx#20 screws on both sides. Remove shifter boot. remove center console. Remove 2 screws on cup holder. remove screws on bottom of the radio. remove radio. back of driver side seat. remove panel remove 2 torx screws on front side of cd changer. under armrest remove 2 screws. remove rear armrest cover. back side of cd changer loosen screws. remove two screws on back panel then pull forward. remove screws on back side of cd changer then remove cd player
run speaker wires and antenna extension cable to front by the radio

Did you use aftermarket amp. How was sound afterwards? Also are you goint to run separate wire for subs?

Hi, no, we didn't use an amp. It was connected from radio directly to speakers. No sub but sounded fine

Man this helped a lot , appreciate your input . Can you tell us what wires did you use color wise , and did you just splice them from the OE amp .. any details will much appreciated Also in your opinion for a professional installer, how much time it should take to wire the front to the back, including removing the panels thanks

This was about 5 hours. It may be easier if you can have a helper doing one part while the other is doing something else

Front Left +: Blue/Green Stripe Front Left -: Brown/Green Stripe Front Right +: Yellow/Brown Stripe Front Right -: Yellow Rear Left +: Purple Rear Left -: Green Rear Right +: Blue/Brown Stripe Rear Right -: Blue This may be different from your car

I guess the system does not allow more than 13 replies lol Just to confirm, you suggest to completely disconnect, the Bose amplifier from its wiring harness and from its power does that sound right? Not sure if you also familiar I really don't care about having the steering controls in the campus. Is that something I can connect in the future since I am directly going to the speakers And bypassing the Bose amp

Yes, you can add steering wheel control to the radio
