Timeless......Just bought me a 2011 SL 63 ///AMG wit 30k on it, and I got the 2 year warranty. It is funny on the newer ones the AMG decal on the back comes first.

Thanks Derek! I'm, really happy with the outcome on this one. I've grown to love the SL55's as they represent such an incredible bargain for the performance and luxury that you get. Once modified a bit, the styling still looks modern and they did such a great job on the original design. They are indeed extremely complex machines but I do like working on them.

Appreciate it! When working correctly, the hydraulic ABC suspension is great. Repairs aren't too bad if you're mechanically inclined.

NVM i found the offset in the comments someone asked, ET 27 in the rear and the front you ran a 10mm spacer? with 305 in the rear do you rub at all?

Wow, beautifully modded, well kept car and from the video the paint looks spotless. I'm in the market for an SL 55 myself, it's tough trying to find a white on red interior SL. Did you find a buyer for this yet? What are you asking for it?

Thanks Vince! The car was truly like new when I was done with it. Unfortunately this one sold back in July. Of the almost 20 SL55s that I've had only 4 of them have had the berry red interior and 1 of those 4 was the white/red combo. Also had a white/red SL63. Definitely very rare to find that color combo but it's my favorite too!

Thanks to this video i decided to get a silver R230 after all, albeit not a 55, but i found a good deal on a 600. Will probably mod it to something like the one here, truly beautiful. Thanks Joel! Those are indeed the Niche Form M157 in Charcoal. I ran a 20x8.5 25et with a 10mm H&R hub-centric spacer (for flush fitment) and 255/30/20 in the front. In the rear I did a 20x10.5 27ET with a 305/25/20 tire. Unfortunately Niche does not make a 20x9 for the front in this particular wheel, hence having to run a 8.5". On a 20x9 wheel, you can easily run a 275 width tire in the front with these SLs though.

Ride quality is honestly pretty good as long you don't lower the car too much. On stock height suspension the ride doesn't feel much different with the 305/275. Lowering the car about an inch will make it handle better but you do feel impacts/bumps more. If you go lower than about 1.5" the ride quality will be terrible as there's just no travel left in the suspension.

05 to 2008 these beauties were made. The sl55 Amg is the closest you'll get to a car that looks like the legendary and highest end benz , THE SLR McLaren without spending 300,000$ on a used one
