Make/Model: Toyota Camry
Year: 2005 (Generation 5, 2003-2006)
Engine: 2.4L Inline 4 - 2AZFE
Problem: There was a little bit of extra vibration when driving which seemed to be coming from the engine. Inspecting the mounts showed that the torque rod mount was weak.
Solution: Replace torque rod mount, ensuring it is tightened down to keep engine from rocking. Consider inspecting and replacing other motor mounts if needed.

Be sure to change all 4 motor mounts, And make sure not to buy cheap low price motor mounts. After replacing all 4 of them you will steal feel the shaking and knocking vibration, Because of the low quality rubber that it is made out of. So do yourself a favor and pay for the good ones and do it right the 1st time

If you need to change the other lower motor mounts just look up how to change the control arm because the motor mount is blocking the control arms

Pro tip on these torque mounts, rock auto doesn't list them directly. Find the oem part number, paste it into rock auto and the torque mounts show up. 15 dollars before shipping for a new mount compared to $100+ for oem

Great video, but... If your holes don't line up, you are in for a long day! To line up the holes, you have to use pry bars (I hear) and move the motor around. I finally put the old, worn out one back in and will wait for a better day to try again.

S Weathe make sure you’re parked on a level surface. The slightest incline/decline can cause the engine to lean and your holes won’t line up.

Inspect the mount and look for torn and dried rubber, or have someone get into your car and shift it from park to drive, reverse,while you watch the mount shift.

trying to remove the torque strut mount on my 2004 camry. There are two 14mm bolts the top most bolt is stuck and i gave up using a breaker bar when the socket slipped off twice out of fear of rounding the bolt. I dont own a impact wrench any suggestions on getting this bolt loosened? I have coated the bolt in break free bolt spray and liquid. If I can avoid buying an impact wrench that'd be great but if you think that'll do it let me know... Thanks everyone!

Old saying, "cant be stuck if its liquid". Spray with PB blaster and heat it with a torch then try, last ditch effort is a cheater bar.

@khan_xo
@khan_xo 6 жыл бұрын
Muhammed Zahid if you change this one and still feel significant shaking or vibrations then the engine mount could be bad. You could also check visually for looseness or cracking if you are okay with getting under the car.

do you need to replace transmission mounts aswell?
@khan_xo
@khan_xo 6 жыл бұрын
typically, it's good to inspect all mounts and replace them together. The idea is that if one is bad, the others had to carry its load until it was replaced. I didn't for this car since it wasn't the main issue for shaking in my car.

Your actually supposed to replace ALL the mounts. It's like when you get new tires. Why replace just 1 and not the other 3 at the same time cause if 1 is worn out the other 3 are too
@Mixfuns0
@Mixfuns0 5 жыл бұрын
I have changed it with a new one but surprisingly the engine shakes more after idk why!
@khan_xo
@khan_xo 5 жыл бұрын
Muhammed Zahid make sure to inspect the new one to see if you notice any faults. Also be sure that it is tightened properly. Beyond visual inspection, violent shaking may be caused by something else. There is another engine mount at the bottom that may be blown. Or the engine could be shaking from something internal, such as oil getting into the spark plug well.
@Mixfuns0
@Mixfuns0 5 жыл бұрын
Khan XO it shakes only when I shift like from P to R and when shifting gears
@Dexion845
@Dexion845 5 жыл бұрын
@@Mixfuns0 Could be the front engine mount, thats usually the next one that goes. I just replaced all four of mine (automatics have 4, manual's have 5)... If you want to do it, don't get an aftermarket engine mount. You will have to loosen the 17mm bolt on the front mount using extensions, swivel socket adapter, etc. Also make sure the dogbone is disconnected up top (three 14mm bolts) Then go underneath and loosen the three 14mm nuts,... Take a block of wood and lift the engine under the oil pan as close to the front mount as possible and do the swap. After new one is installed lower the engine and align the 17mm bolt on the top.,, Then secure the three 14mm nuts underneath.
